Only one million and it makes the news!
Wow!. It's something Michelle Obama would spend on her next trip.
Australia has just given Indonesia $500 million to spend on their education systems in order to prevent them from being radicalized. Mind you this is borrowed money too as Australia's deficit 17.5 billion. Maybe Serbs should try the same tactic.
Hang on, that's already being done by the Albanians.

"Would you say the same of Russian money Serbia got? Because what you describe fits the Russian "loans".
(Danilo, 9 November 2010 21:09)"

Since you appear to know so much about the Russian loans already, why do you still ask me? Or are you that incapable of thinking for yourself?

"Not only that. Serbia should also read the conditions attached to the so called aid in the fine print. She probably can only spend the money to buy Yankee products or from Yankee companies. It all boils down to Yankee self-interest masquerading as the milk of human kindness."

A reward to Sutanovac's department for supporting Serbian membership of NATO?

If I thought Sutanovac was playing them then congratulations are in order. On the other hand when you go up against the US, it will be you that gets 'played'.

"A million dollars in aid, big deal. That;s hardly enough to keep Mladic in hiding. Thanks, US.

This is a symbolic gesture from the US. They want to appear like they are assisting Serbia, and cooperating with its military, but cannot afford to spend too much money, because they don't have it. A million bucks does not go very far these days, especially for defense. The US knows that very well, because their unfunded wars are bankrupting them.
