appearently , Albanians (of albania at least) fought against axis far harder then all yugoslavs piled together, although it is not hard to imagine that yugoslavs were more busy killing each other than fighting against axis, if it were for yugoslavs, axis and fascism would have prevailed, it was because of people and nations like the albanian one who stood united [partizans and nationalist of Albania were allied until 1943] that italians and germans succumbed ... not to meention the fact that our request for help prior to the invasion by italy to yugoslavia and greece was refused ... not that our king expected miracles form greece and yugoslaviaj, the purpose was to tell our neighbours that they were going to be next, but probaly, yugoslavs and greeks back in 1939 didn't think axis would attack them ...
I, as an Albanian, am proud how my people handled ww2, speaking of communist and nationalists, politics is politics... more than 2000 jews and more than 7000 italian desertors were rescued by the simple peasants of my homeland, even our nationalist who collaborated with nazis, refused to send volunters to stalingrrad for the simple reason it was not our war and even made fake reports about hundreds of jews who in those reports were displayed as albanian communists and by the indipendent status of albanian regency, communist of albanian citizenship were to be detained in albania and not sent in camps of reich, this way many non albanian jews were rescued. We did not stain our hands with innocent blood...

as for border changes in the balkans, there can only be changes if they are agreed upon by all sides - if not, there is no discussion about changing borders.

Actually we will never forget how serbs attacked us and killed thousands of Albanians during the balkan wars and ww1. Also, it is very arrogant to say that serbs liberated albanians from ottomans ... how did serbs possibly liberate us from Turks when we had already declared indipendence in 28 november 1912 while the balkan wars started in 8 october 1912, how you possibly liberated Albanians by attacking a sovreign Albanian state? I don't know what they teach you at school, but if it wasn't for russia and panslavism, modern Serbia would not exist. Serbia would either be a province of Bulgaria or Hungary. We Albanians never needed help from any big country to create our own state. Small but we chose to stand on our own. Albanians, unlike irish, croatians,slovenians, bosnians, slovaks, bielrusians, ukrainians, moldavians, estonians, lithuanians,lethonians and macedonaians , we had our own state in 1912 despite of being in a region where the power of italy, greece and yugoslavs was no match for us. We never allied with any BIG country like serbs did. We managed to stay indipendent although we were sorrounded by stronger enemies. Maybe our borders were shrinked, and maybe our population was halfed, but whatever the cost we were by our own and owe nothing to anyone. I wonder where were serbs when we revolted against ottomans in 1878 ? And how slavs help us? By invading Ulqin? What about Albanian uprising in 1909, 1911? No one helped us, slavs and greeks would probably wait until ottomans crushed our revolts and then attack us. When we finally gained indipendence in november 1912...Serbs attack us only few days later. Need i mention that greeks and serbs had secret treaties even before of the wars in order to divide the balkans between them?
Talking about how Albanian kneeled...how come Albanians were the last nation to fall under ottomans ? When Skanderebeg chose to fight, Serbian king gave its siter for the sultan's harem.

The business formula of keeping labor cost low for businesses in Greece has been to hire Alb workers, have them work for months without pay and when time comes to pay them, you call the cops to expell them from the country, while also receiving billions from EU for help with immigrant issues, not to mention the physical tortures that your solders inflict on them on the border cross line .... oh no you are not fooling anyone.

We did not stain our hands with innocent blood...

Really? There are some 500K alb in Greece, and all you see is arm robbers and narco-trafficers? The business formula of keeping labor cost low for businesses in Greece has been to hire Alb workers, have them work for months without pay and when time comes to pay them, you call the cops to expell them from the country, while also receiving billions from EU for help with immigrant issues, not to mention the physical tortures that your solders inflict on them on the border cross line .... oh no you are not fooling anyone.
Many recents statistics show that indeed Albanians in Greece have a lower level of criminality than any other significant immigrant group and almost the same with greeks, although they live under brutal conditions, no papers, no basic rights, they have to change their name, fake their identity, all because of your biggotry, but apparently your hateful media and state of mind does not allow for facts to settle in.
Forgot how Albanians are one of the most productive work-force in Greece, working 2-3 jobs under full descrimination and amongst hatefull greeks, who vegetate all day and dance in buzuqis drinking Ouzo while Alb work like dogs.....you will be ok though, as long as Germans work and pay taxes for you.
But don't worry what goes around comes around. Next time we will not be there to liberate you, like we did 180 yrs ago.
You better believe it, than Albanians will ally with Turkey to counterbalance your arrogance and bully attitude. Won't be surprissed if Macedonians will do the same too.
Hmm and this comes from a Greek, a representative of a country who denies the existence of any minorities .... a country who has been living for free for decades, a country where bombing of embassies is a daily event, and of course dont forget the terrorist organization Novemeber 17 who killed many westeners.
Turkey at least is not a bail out country, and its greatest purpose in the Balkans is keeping a cocky and bully Greece on check, and oh boy do they do a good job.

recognised the existence of a muslim minority which has doubled in numbers in the last 90 years-unlike the Greek minority in Turkey which was reduced from 500000
in 1952 to a trickle of 3000 today.

Actually we will never forget how serbs attacked us and killed thousands of Albanians during the balkan wars and ww1. Also, it is very arrogant to say that serbs liberated albanians from ottomans ... how did serbs possibly liberate us from Turks when we had already declared indipendence in 28 november 1912 while the balkan wars started in 8 october 1912, how you possibly liberated Albanians by attacking a sovreign Albanian state? I don't know what they teach you at school, but if it wasn't for russia and panslavism, modern Serbia would not exist. Serbia would either be a province of Bulgaria or Hungary. We Albanians never needed help from any big country to create our own state. Small but we chose to stand on our own. Albanians, unlike irish, croatians,slovenians, bosnians, slovaks, bielrusians, ukrainians, moldavians, estonians, lithuanians,lethonians and macedonaians , we had our own state in 1912 despite of being in a region where the power of italy, greece and yugoslavs was no match for us. We never allied with any BIG country like serbs did. We managed to stay indipendent although we were sorrounded by stronger enemies. Maybe our borders were shrinked, and maybe our population was halfed, but whatever the cost we were by our own and owe nothing to anyone. Also, it is arrogant to say Serbs liberated whole the balkans... bulgarian, romanians, greeks and albanians also fought, not just against ottomans, but mostly against each other. I wonder where were serbs when we revolted against ottomans in 1878 ? And how slavs help us? By invading Ulqin? What about Albanian uprising in 1909, 1911? No one helped us, slavs and greeks would probably wait until ottomans crushed our revolts and then attack us. When we finally gained indipendence in november 1912...Serbs attack us only few days later. Need i mention that greeks and serbs had secret treaties even before of the wars in order to divide the balkans between them?
Talking about how Albanian kneeled...how come Albanians were the last nation to fall under ottomans ? When Skanderebeg chose to fight, Serbian king gave its siter for the sultan's harem.

Good luck on that, Je¿ - look at its geographical (geopolitical) location. It's still a big country on the highway between East and West, especially well placed with respect to oil and gas line placements, and with ties to peoples in the Caucasus, Central Asia, and Europe. As for ancient history - it's history. The US fought a long and bloody war to gain it's freedom from England - and we've been best friends ever since. Meaning, there's no reason the countries of the Balkans shouldn't try to find a way to profit from a new relationship with an increasingly powerful Turkey.

Did someone mention that 20 million of those "70" are Kurds and want nothing to do with Turkey? Also, we have several million Greeks ready to reclaim Constantinople. I suspect the game of divide and conquer will visit Turkey soon enough.

Yep, I can see it just now. Two impoverished groups counterbalancing the so called Greek arrogance. Wake up and you will see that Turkey is nothing but a third world country. I’ve been to Turkey recently and once you leave either Ankara or Istanbul it’s povertysville incorporated.
The only reason the Turks carry on like this is because the US keeps blowing hot air up their proverbial and they believe that they are a real strength. The Kurds are thrashing the Turks at every encounter – the body bags filled with dead Turkish soldiers leaving northern Iraq are countless and the Turkish army can’t understand why this is happening. Please no more of this “Turkey is the cross road into the middle east” crap – once again its US BS.
And your waiting for the Macedonians to help Albanians – don’t hold your breath on that one either.

People hold your horses, neither is Osmanli empire coming back nor are the borders written in stone. Today's Turkey can only wish to be what it once was but those times are not coming back. They are supporting one political idea for obvious resons, they have restive unrecognised minority of some 15million who want rights and more. But the precedent has been already set with Kosovo so they screwed themselves by recognising it. It is only matter of time when Kurds will have their own country. It is a disgrace for both Albanians and Serbs if a Turkish politician comes to Kosovo with other purpose than to apologize. They have 700 years to apologize for.
That Arvanites were one of the driving force of Greek War or Independence is well-known. But how conveniently it is forgotten by some.
Suggestion to the ones with selective amnesia regarding Ottoman role on Balkans: go out catch some fresh air and find a statue of an iron-clad knight who wears a helmet adored with a head of a goat. Look up and scratch your head - who is that guy?
