What I cannot understand is why B92, an independent media outlet showcases STRATFOR's work. STRATFOR is not an internationally recognized think-tank.
(Sebatian, 3 November 2010 21:49)

why, indeed. don't get me started on the independent, democratic media of belgrade...

and speaking of belgrade, mladic is there, dead center. this "speculation" is all lies and very purposeful diversion tactics: oh, he could be in n korea... or the man in the moon. he's alive and thriving in new york. he's happy in iran, he's had plastic surgery, he's in drag, he's lost weight, or gained...

actually, he's STILL in belgrade and has been for at least the last decade. often quite publicly.

and he'll be arrested, soon, any decade now. what's the rush? eichman was kidnapped/arrested in 1960 fr argentina i believe, 15 years after holocaust's end. hmm. 1995 plus 15 = 2010. right on target. where's the mossad when you need 'em??

and speaking of american politics(weren't we?) things are not nearly so gloomy as some have painted. in california, most of the major races have been won by democrats --- thank god! boxer is still in the senate, alive and kicking.

billionairess meg Whitman lost the governor's race, despite her blatant attempt to buy the election -- with all of her millions, even fellow republicans admit it. a lovely defeat.

so, numerous victories for progressives in california. and thru the rest of the us, a mixed picture, but not as bleak as once predicted. i'm even cautiously optimistic.

but 1 think i need to say: if obama doesn't get his groove back, he will never win reelection, and will bring us all down with him. wake up, barak!

ciao!

"Serb: Mladic may not be hiding in Serbia"

Such a statement by Papic is hardly news, Serbs (with a few honourable exceptions) say this all the time. For the first time, however, it becomes clear that STRATFOR is not international in character but staffed by Serbs, which explains its highly biased Balkan perspectives and predictions which never come to pass.

What I cannot understand is why B92, an independent media outlet showcases STRATFOR's work. STRATFOR is not an internationally recognized think-tank.

I have been saying for months that I do not believe Mladic was in Serbia or Bosnia, especially after Karadjic was found and arrested. He would be crazy to. He is either enjoying vodka and caviar somewhere, or playing chess with some Croatian generals in Montevideo. In either case, news of his death will probably come before he ever gets anywhere near the Hague. Personally, I have mixed feelings on his apprehension - anyone that committed mass war crimes should stand trial, yet the way the West was/is totally biased in prosecuting war criminals from the Balkan wars, I don't mind them being frustrated that he is elusive to them.

Five Albanians and one Serb so far commenting. I wonder what has the Albanians so spooked. They are out here so quick denouncing this man and anything he has to say and they do look very worried.

"the facts speak for itself on who has more competant people to negotiate, from Rambulle till now Kosova has prevailed."

-- From Ramboullet till now, "Kosova" has been told to either keep quiet and stall or accept terms given to them from the United States. The Ahtisaari Plan itself is still seen as a large "concession" made by Albanian elites in exchange for "supervised independence". Don't give your side credit that it was not responsible for. From Ramboullet till now, "Kosova" has been a back seat rider.

Since the company's founding in 1996, STRATFOR has been consistently wrong in most of its predictions and analysis about the Balkans. This latest bit of speculation from STRATFOR is merely par for the course.

Yes, Pristina has been delaying "dialogue" and I think the reason being is that no-one there is competent enough or has the skills to negotiate.
(Zoran, 3 November 2010 15:37)

Frankly I love this know-it-all attitude of the Serbs; this born attitude they have to downplay and neglect others while considering themselves as the utmost specialists on anything.

In case you've forgotten take a look at who ruled Kosova in the 70's and what Serbia can do there today. No matter how incompetent you consider our kind to be; we've managed to bring you into some deep

Aside from this , which has no bearing on Maldic, I must admitt that he may be in middle of Belgrade or Moscow.

"As STRATFOR has published before, pressure to shortly begin dialogue has definitely been put on the Albanian side. Both the United States and the European Union have clearly told Priština that they will no longer provide unconditional support on this issue,“

On what particular issue is Mr. Papic actually talking about? Is Serbia still trying the old tactics of hijacking the discussion between the two countries?
Mr. Papic should know and if he doesn't he should learn that US and EU continue to support K-Independence unconditionally. No official from US or EU has ever implied the opposite so your "marketing" technique ain't going to have any effect. As far as the many other issues between two countries, neither Pristina has demanded, nor US nor EU have offered unconditional support of any kind.

Zoran

That country may not really want Serbia to be successful on its path to the European Union.
--
Well, that's what I have been thinking for some time. The fact that Mladic is a condition for Serbia's EU progress is a good thing. Regardless of whether someone likes Mladic or not, he is definitely saving Serbia by remaining free. I really do hope he is out of Serbia and somewhere like Russia, which hopefully prevents Serbia joining the EU.

He stated that Priština has been delaying the process due to its internal political situation.
