Obama just can't deliver what he probably thinks he has to - because he is afraid to become American Gorbachyov. He is between the rock and hard place, probably a single-term president.

Not that what would come will be better - because the position of Republicans is totally unacceptable.

Obama's biggest mistake was to "re-cycle" some Clinton-era people who essentially did bring unpleasant Clinton-era political aftertaste, without Clinton-era prosperity.

I agree with you.Obama's entire team on the economy were old Clinton acolytes let alone his chief of staff and some other hangers on(Holbrook)etc.

I don't think Obama has got to show much since he's been in office.Even his watered-down medicare will be scrapped if the republicans regain majoriy in the congress.

Obviously an incoming administration needs time to get its message through but Obama hasn't got any new message because he follows Bush's economic and foreign policies to the letter.

I also agree with you that he looks like being one term president.

Arzumanian added that Sarkisian's administration would consent to publishing the records of the telephone conversations between Biden and Sarkisian.

I have to admit the policies of the present US administration towards the Armenian genocide have been totally discracefull.I am certain Sarkisian is telling the truth.

Obama & Biden signed various resolutions on the Armenian genocide before being elected to office only to refuse to honour their commitment while in office.
Since then Obama,Biden and Clinton have been pilling pressure on Armenia to normalise relations with Turkey at the expense of the genocide recognition.

But then again one has to look behind the rhetorical fanfare to Obama's abysmal position on main issues. The US gulag of Guatanamo Bay is still around,The wars in Afganistan and Pakistan in full swing, voted for the patriot Act,continuing with bailing out the wall Street scum at the expense of taxpayers, rejected habeas claims for terror suspects and also authorising the killing of US citizens suspected of terrorism.

On the other hand Turkey is still pursuing the successfull policy of using its geography as a pressure tool in its relations with the US

But Turkey needs to grow up and accept like Germany that it has done things that it should be ashamed of. Until Turkey allows an intellectual discourse and public recognition of what happened then even as the years pass by the genocide memories will never go away.
