You are right! This galactic agreement states that Pristina is the ONLY authority in the election, BUT unfortunately Earth's Law, Under UN RES1244, states otherwise.

Wow. Finally! Now I understand on what the legality of the Kosovo independence is based on. Thanks you, KOSO ;-)

I'm poking fun of you Serbs that keep mentioning 1244 as if it's the supreme law.

There could be a discussion about the legality of these "established" authorities. Hey, a solution: The Serbs could simply see the elections as provincional elections, and then it should be okay, or not? ;-)

The current authorities were elected in the last UNMIK called election. They were oversaw by the international civilian presence so they are in place legally. Now I am not saying they are the best choices, but they were democratically elected.
I do not know whether your response was meant to be a tongue in cheek response but it is true. It matters not whether the Serbs look at it as independent Kosovo elections or autonomous Province elections, it will be the people that will run Kosovo. No election held by Serbia can legally nor practically do that.
I also find it ironic that Serbian politicians claim that K-Serbs should not vote in the elections because they are not being called by UNMIK, when for 8 years they called on them to boycott any elections held by UNMIK.

I thought the only legitimate elections in Kosovo are the ones organized by UNMIK, because, according to UN1244, Kosovo is a Serbian province under temporary UN administration.

Serbia should simply label the Pristina as being the head of the autonomous entity as in 1244 and carry on from there.

I doubt Pristina would be able to live with that though because they want to establish their mono-ethnical Albanian pseudo-state so that they can later merge with Albania.

This has always been the Albanian plan - and still is.

".. but it also says that once Kosovo institutions have been established to transfer those authorities to it, which UNMIK has done.
So whether you call Kosovo a country or an autonomous province it is the govt of Kosovo who is the only authority to call elections. If you support Resolution 1244."

Actually, whether you support Kosovo as a country or not is irrelevant. If you read 1244 the holding of elections was a mandate of UNMIK, but it also says that once Kosovo institutions have been established to transfer those authorities to it, which UNMIK has done.
So whether you call Kosovo a country or an autonomous province it is the govt of Kosovo who is the only authority to call elections. If you support Resolution 1244.

Top, that was the case before the UN secretary general declared that the INTERMEDIATE period was over. Now that it is over many things have changed; among them Prishtina organizes elections with the blessing of UNMIK. If the UN and UNMIK is not against these elections, who the f.. is Serbia to tell them that they go against the UN and UNMIK.

Lets be clear here,if Pristina's Government behave, and conduct business as a independent state then Serbs living on KosMet territory should not vote in such elections.UN resolution 1244 is the only legal document which guide the UNMIK and EU activities in the KosMet.Any Serb living on territory of KosMet voting in this election is a vote for Kosovo independence, therefore should not be entitled to receive any assistance from Serbia.Status of Kosovo is sealed in UNSC Resolution 1244 and only way to change that is by adopting new resolution, which is not forthcoming any time soon.
Serbs living on this territory should not live in ghettos .Its Serbia responsibility to see to it that all Serbian citizens receive adequate care.

The vote represents a violation of UN SC Resolution 1244 and the Constitution of Serbia, the party announced in Belgrade today.

wow, it is very puzzling how Serbs think. When UNMIK was governing Kosova, and elections were done by UNMIK, Serb govermant was publicly telling K-Serbs not to go out and vote. Now, they say is in violation of 1244R.
This is beyound any words>
