“Of course now we depend on the West. I don't know about the future. We cannot foretell the future, and the word always has no place in politics. Things have never remained static in politics and even in state formation. The reality is that nobody knows. Countless of examples exist. The point that you do not get, is that things are so sad and not going well that you have to resort to comparisons about who is more dependable Serbia or Kosova. That is indeed a sad state of affairs, and quite frankly a low standard to measure your achievements considering that you're comparing an almost 200 year old country with a creation that is not even 3 year old. That is very sad indeed. Such comparisons shouldn't even exist today; yet Serbia depend on western handouts like we do. That is the whole point.

As for me being a Yankee; I do not give a rat's a..s whether others despise me for who I am. Their bitterness is their problem; its their choice.
Second, you play the cards of the Armageddon. Dude it has always been the case that politics and policies change. That doesn't spell the eradication of the Albanians from Kosova. Nor does it spell the eradication of Kosova. Our people have already been through what you pray to happen to us in the future. We're still here. We were abandoned, despised, fought against from not only the east but the west as well. We're still here. There is no Armageddon or anything your heart wishes for us. Let's make it simple. When there will be no Serbs, there will be no Albanians as well. So it is because politics and policies change that we do not see desperation( like you wish us), but we rather see hope. Meaning we can deal with setbacks and thankfully we seem to have the West with us. Keep on praying for their demise. That is your choice.

You don't just depend on the West right now. Way I see it, you guys will be their ward for a long, long time to come. A real financial drain on the West's dwindling coffers. The whole point was not that Serbia depends on handouts (she’s 200 years old, so what? Greece is over 2000 years old and recently got bailed out by the EU too). My point was that you are not in a position to make fun of Serbia’s “beggary” when Kosovo is a far, far greater beggar.

As for many who despise you Yankees, really the way I see it you only have your own government to blame – they have this unquenchable thirst to make trouble for others all over the world. And for “Kosova”, it was a Western creation. Ironically the joke is one the West who are now stuck with their invention. They have to feed and aid it continuously with no end in sight – as I wrote earlier, many in the West I think are starting to realize what a great financial burden they have created for themselves at a time when they themselves are not doing well economically – methinks they actually deserve it for biting off more than they could chew!

You just don’t get it do you?? My point was that however much you mock at Serbia (about beggary and dependence on others, etc), Kosovo is and will always be in a much worse off position relatively speaking. Kosovo depends MORE on the West for aid than Serbia ever did or ever will. Pristina needs not just MORE financial aid from the West compared with Serbia. Kosovo also need the West to protect it (via Nato, KFOR, Eulex and previously UNMIK). Fact is that Kosovo cannot survive economically or militarily without the West -- this puts Kosovo at the mercy of the West which was the point I was making all this while. Compared with Pristina’s state of affairs today, Serbia is definitely more sovereign and less dependent on the good graces of the West compared with “Kosova”

“-- Well first of all you might wanna consider me a Yankee despite my clear Albanian origins. I'm damn proud of it. Proud to be an American. Seem like you're anti- American. So nevertheless you seem to hate the US and not the Albanians per se.

Second read a little more. I will just let you in on a little secret. The state of Albania today exists solely because USA made it happen. If it was for the Serbs, Russians, Greeks, French, Brits we would not be on the map of the world. It seems like, you might have also been happier if the Yankees had not made this possible. You can investigate this if you want(There's some very interesting maps out there you might wanna take a look at; and the vision to suffocate Albania is uite clear or as Serb put it back then"Old Serbia"). So Albanians sucking up to the Yankees has a very valid reason. Our existence as a nation is due to the Yankees. Then the Yankees helped Albanians in 1999, then during independence, also they helped forge the Ohrid agreement in FYROM, and they are helping us now. You may continue to pray and hope they drop us like a hot potato if that improves your life. Thats your choice. “

Well then, be proud of being a Yankee …….. just be aware that there are many in this globe who can’t stand you guys! And since you admit it, I rest my case about sucking up to the Yankees. Just remember that you Yankees have betrayed those who sucked up to you before – the South Vietnamese and Georgians for instance.

“-- I never said they were paved with gold. But only a fool would believe that Serbia's were. The fact of the matter is that no matter how much you like to minimize Serbia's dependence on the West; the very fact that such dependence is comparable with Kosova's is something that boggles my mind. You have a country thats almost 200 years old that is on comparable levels of dependents with a 2-3 year old creation. This is a sad state of affairs for Serbia. In fact I will make you a bet. Within 1-2 months you will see Serbia begging for money again to the EU, IMF, World Bank, Germany, US etc etc. Have you noticed how often you see articles about Serbia's cry for financial help. That equals major dependence whether you like it or not. No matter how much you pray for the West to crumble, reconsidering these prayers would be a good start, seeing that it spells the crumbling of Serbia.

“-- Actually it is the US that calls the shots. They EU cannot take a leak without Washington's permission. That has been the case for a while now. Make no mistake Kosova has achieved what it has so far due to the USA's direct intervention and not do to a timid EU. On the other side Serbia is so weak they don't even need to send soldiers in. They send an ambassador that tells you to do as they tell them or there's no bread this winter. Then Serbia obeys and Germany and the US gives Serbia a loan so Serbia can have food this winter. “

Well, you just proved my point! My point all along is that “Kosova” is far more dependent on the good graces of the West than Serbia ever will be!

Can you also provide any online proof to back your statement that the EU needs Washington’s permission – seems pretty farfetched to me.

“- Of course. The West is not our enemy. They made possible for us things that could have never been achieve if they hadn't intervened on our side or if they had isolated us. We are grateful enough to recognize their contribution and express this grateness through collaboration.

Serbia on the other hand is so bitter and shelters so much hate towards them but it can't do anything because its weak and hungry. So they want to give their masses the illusion of machismo against the West but then they need food and do what the West tells them. Serbia can't afford to remain hungry for the winter. So they are made to obey and apologize for all the BS machismo. “

I never said the West was your enemy, not yet anyway. I said they are your masters now. They won’t be your enemy as long as you grovel before them, which is what Kosovo has to do now. However “hungry” (your words) Serbia is, believe me “Kosova” will be far hungrier should the West decide to pull out the plugs on you guys. And don’t assume it won’t happen. The Yankees abandoned Vietnam in the past and are in the process of abandoning Afghanistan.

“-- This is a Serb wet dream driven by bitterness and hate. It is a long one. Over 150 years old. Read, "The Expulsion of the Albanians" by Vasa Cubrilovic, Serbian minister, published in 1937. Even then they were having this kind of wet dream.

On the other hand the 90's are a great testimonial, if you're not convinced, that the day the West drops Serbia is the day you perish economically and politically.

The point is that like a stereotypical Serb you see a zero sum game. As if the West has to pick one over the other. They don't. You will eventually will learn to live with the fact that Albanians have people on their side as well. Not only that but you will learn to live without praying for the day when the Albanians will be dropped like a hot potato and America cease to exist. Your Ahamdinajad-attitude will subside eventually. Its a process and it will take time.”

Serbia does not do business with just the West, who, in case you are still in financial la la land, are in a financial quagmire. See for example http://www.federalbudget.com/
That’s why I think the day they drop you guys like a hot potato will be the day everything will unravel for you. Serbia on the other hand does not solely depend on the good graces of the West. They do business with China and Russia too. China, in case you forgot, hold the most US IOUs in the world, not to mention the world’s greatest currency reserves. “Kosova” on the other hand has only the financially beleaguered West to rely on.

“-- You sure do act more Serb than the Serb themselves. I know this because I've worked with them for years. You might achieve better thing,s if this energy you waste on the bitterness and dislike towards us Albanians you use it for better things such as doing something to help your own ethnicity.”

I am not anti-Albanian. But I detest people who suck up to the Yankees, like you obviously do. I do admit to being pro-Serbian because they can’t stand the Yankees too.

“-- Every little help we get from the EU and the West is very much appreciated. We're indeed very grateful for this help. We recognize the fact that we need all the help we can get, not only monetarily but also in terms of expertise. However one would be very deluded to think that Serbia does not depend on the handouts of the EU and the West. As a matter of fact only in a few months of B92 articles these handouts are in the Billions of euros. Leaving politics aside, it is crystal clear that without EU and West's fund Serbia would face a disastrous situation. Even with all this money and help being pumped into Serbia; Serbia has high inflation, high unemployment, problems with pensions, strikes very often and from time to time riots and civil unrest. These are the facts.

(lost in cyberspace):
--Since the constitution of its present government, Serbia has spared no effort to arrest Mladić and will continue to do so, Tadić pointed out.

“This is not being done for the European Union or the Hague Tribunal, but for the sake of Serbia itself and its policy of regional reconciliation,” he said at a reception for the participants in the meeting of the ABNA-SE.

Tadić also says that although he personally did not take part in Serbia's political life during the war, he now has the difficult task of visiting the places where war crimes had been committed.

He repeated that he had already visited Srebrenica and that he intended to visit Vukovar soon.

“It is my duty to close the Ratko Mladić page in history,” the president concluded.

Tadić thanked the EU member states for recognizing that Serbia was doing everything to arrest Mladić.--

Same ole lies, same ole crap.

the blgd regimes have done everything possible NOT to arrest mass murderer Mladic. not under kostunica and that fake kostunica constitution (still in effect), not now.

this recent 10 million euro offer is the first development that has something interesting in it. of course it's just a (not so) cheap PR stunt for eu/hague consumption, another diversion. but i personally plan to make use of it. in other words, put yr euros where yr (lying) mouth is. as i have articulated already in some detail. anyone interested in joining us?

as for all this phony-balony "compromising," so long as the blgd regime insists it will NEVER recognize an independent kosova, bla bla bla, it means less than nothing.

but, this proposed idea about traveling to pristina and officially recognizing kosova's independence together with kosovar officials, well, that's an interesting possibility. no more "udi". let's float it at the negotiations, eh?

As for touring the sites of serbia's genocidal aggression, tadic has a long way to go. literally. i suggest he contact some of the victim/survivor groups, then increase his efforts ten-fold. in fact, it would become a full time job, and SHould. kosova alone is chock-full of sites of serbian aggression, massacres and atrocities. you can begin by checking out the OSCE-99 Kosova report. or just contact me, i'll be glad to give you a heads-up.

as for tadic's up-front support for demagogue dodik (who hardly needed it!), it just put the finishing touches to tadic's full-blown hypocrisy. better to stay an up-front nationalist, in the worst way, and just drop the "moderate" pretense.

Can't wait for the talks to begin. we have a lot to say...

Just read what Tadic did, from today's "The Globe and Mail":

"...
In exchange, Mr. Tadic has done ....
most extraordinarily, he permitted the breakaway Muslim-majority province of Kosovo, ... a symbolic touchstone for many Serbs,
to become an independent nation without official protest.

... he persuaded politicians to shut up about Kosovo. ..."

EA, you will not be the one setting the dynamics or agenda of the upcoming negotiations between Belgrade and Pristina - I think the EU will have a say in that. "Therefore, a modus has to be found according to which Serbia does not recognize the independence of Kosovo, either explicitly or implicitly, and which opens possibilities for settlement of all open issues," the Serbia president underlined.

When Serbia is ready until it finds "the modus"...Kosovo can wait. That "modus" has to be Kosovo talking to Serbia as equall. It should not be the slightest doubt on that. Just as an example to those who believe that Serbia will sit into talks as "the boss" and as Zoran put it into one of his comments Kosovo as "dependent" it will not happen.

I can not immagine for example that the Serbian delegation/Tadic wil be displaying Serbian flag and Kosovo delegation/Thaci will not be allowed to display Kosovo flag because that would mean directly or indirectly Kosovo independence recognition by Serbia. I hope you get my point.

Just read what Tadic did, from today's "The Globe and Mail":

"...
In exchange, Mr. Tadic has done ....
most extraordinarily, he permitted the breakaway Muslim-majority province of Kosovo, ... a symbolic touchstone for many Serbs,
to become an independent nation without official protest.

... he persuaded politicians to shut up about Kosovo. ..."

"He said that the meeting was possible". That sounds great

BUT
"provided the law and institutions which he represented were observed.

What about the law and institutions Thaci will be representing?

"The EU is your master now because it is RIGHT NOW INSIDE “Kosova” and controlling YOU via Eulex. I know they used the polite terminology “supervised independence” but you really got to be naïve to take that at face value. It is the EU that calls the shots in “Kosova”. In contrast, the EU is not inside Belgrade. "

-- Actually it is the US that calls the shots.

"Sure, your side hasn’t antagonized the EU. Not yet anyway. Why? Because you dare not and because you can’t afford to."

-- Of course.

"The day the West drops “Kosova” like a hot potato is the day you perish economically and politically. "

-- This is a Serb wet dream driven by bitterness and hate.

Its a process and it will take time.

"I am not a Serbian..."

-- You sure do act more Serb than the Serb themselves. I know this because I've worked with them for years. You might achieve better thing,s if this energy you waste on the bitterness and dislike towards us Albanians you use it for better things such as doing something to help your own ethnicity.

"... but I know Serbia does have a real economy and does real trade with the world – whatever economic problems she faces, she certainly does not rely on Western charity to “Kosova”;s extent –- when you talk about being fed by the EU to be kept alive, I would respectfully point out to you that this would actually apply first and foremost to you guys in “Kosova”!

-- Every little help we get from the EU and the West is very much appreciated.

"I am not anti-Albanian. But I detest people who suck up to the Yankees, like you obviously do. I do admit to being pro-Serbian because they can’t stand the Yankees too."

-- Well first of all you might wanna consider me a Yankee despite my clear Albanian origins.

"And I suppose the streets of “Kosova” are paved with gold????? I suppose your own unemployment rate (around 60% I think) is less than Serbia’s???? Far from it! In fact I won’t if surprised if many in the West are already seeing you guys as a big black bottomless financial pit! However much Serbia needs the West can never equal the degree that you guys can’t survive without the West!"

-- I never said they were paved with gold.

Another point to make is that unlike you, our side hasn't antagonized them. We know very well who made what we have attained possible. Remember you're the bad guys here, the village idiot. The point is that as a beggar you can't be choosers. You beg to sit so you don't make the rules. The rules are made by those who are hiding the village idiot( you)in their cellars.

They have to feed and aid it continuously with no end in sight – as I wrote earlier, many in the West I think are starting to realize what a great financial burden they have created for themselves at a time when they themselves are not doing well economically – methinks they actually deserve it for biting off more than they could chew!

the blgd regimes have done everything possible NOT to arrest mass murderer Mladic. not under kostunica and that fake kostunica constitution (still in effect), not now.

this recent 10 million euro offer is the first development that has something interesting in it. of course it's just a (not so) cheap PR stunt for eu/hague consumption, another diversion. but i personally plan to make use of it. in other words, put yr euros where yr (lying) mouth is. as i have articulated already in some detail. anyone interested in joining us?

as for all this phony-balony "compromising," so long as the blgd regime insists it will NEVER recognize an independent kosova, bla bla bla, it means less than nothing.

but, this proposed idea about traveling to pristina and officially recognizing kosova's independence together with kosovar officials, well, that's an interesting possibility. no more "udi". let's float it at the negotiations, eh?

You don't get it at all. If the EU tells you to sit, you WILL jolly well sit and behave or else ...... They are your new masters now. You can't afford to antangonize them -- you are in reality more EU's slave than its golden child in case you are still in la la land about yourself in their eyes.

Iowe, if the EU tells you to change your resolutions or you will be banished and become a pariah do you change them? I am writing this since you like to talk about masters. If they tell you to stop antagonizing them or they'll cut you off their purse no matter how much you beg do you stop? Did Serbia stop? Again this is since you like talking about masters.
Another point to make is that unlike you, our side hasn't antagonized them. We know very well who made what we have attained possible. Remember you're the bad guys here, the village idiot. You're the one that they just managed to hide in the cellar after all the all the resolution idiocy. They gave you a few candies and off you go, hidden in a cellar for the forseeable future.

The point is that as a beggar you can't be choosers. You beg to sit so you don't make the rules. The rules are made by those who are hiding the village idiot( you)in their cellars. Serbia is the village idiot, to the EU. It needs to be controlled, kept quiet, and spanked in order to prevent her from hurting herself or the next door neighbor. next they give her a candy and sit her on a table and show her off who those around her are so she becomes acquainted. This is you and only a deluded fool doesn't see that Serbia is indeed tied down and controlled by the EU. They feed you, the keep you alive.

EA, you will not be the one setting the dynamics or agenda of the upcoming negotiations between Belgrade and Pristina - I think the EU will have a say in that. How can Belgrade and Pristina be viewed as equals, when the EU/UNMIK will be representing the Albanians? So please, give your pro-Albanian, nationalistic voice a rest. Just sit back, watch events unfold, and accept the realities that transpire. BTW, I feel lately that the EU is a bit more on Serbia's side, then K Albania's - I may be wrong.

"I am not anti-Albanian. But I detest people who suck up to the Yankees, like you obviously do. I do admit to being pro-Serbian because they can’t stand the Yankees too."

-- Well first of all you might wanna consider me a Yankee despite my clear Albanian origins.

Just read what Tadic did, from today's "The Globe and Mail":

"...
In exchange, Mr. Tadic has done ....
most extraordinarily, he permitted the breakaway Muslim-majority province of Kosovo, ... a symbolic touchstone for many Serbs,
to become an independent nation without official protest.

... he persuaded politicians to shut up about Kosovo. ..."

The EU is your master now because it is RIGHT NOW INSIDE “Kosova” and controlling YOU via Eulex. -- Actually it is the US that calls the shots.

"Sure, your side hasn’t antagonized the EU. Not yet anyway. Why? Because you dare not and because you can’t afford to."

-- Of course.

"The day the West drops “Kosova” like a hot potato is the day you perish economically and politically. "

-- This is a Serb wet dream driven by bitterness and hate.

-- Every little help we get from the EU and the West is very much appreciated.

Well, you just proved my point! My point all along is that “Kosova” is far more dependent on the good graces of the West than Serbia ever will be!

Can you also provide any online proof to back your statement that the EU needs Washington’s permission – seems pretty farfetched to me.

Kosovo also need the West to protect it (via Nato, KFOR, Eulex and previously UNMIK). Fact is that Kosovo cannot survive economically or militarily without the West -- this puts Kosovo at the mercy of the West which was the point I was making all this while. Of course now we depend on the West.
