The article is bizarre, and its not even April Fool's Day.

The idea that Seselj has a heart really takes the cake. Did B92 get this from 'The Onion' or something?

Hello Bganon!

You should be informed about the destiny of those 5 police officers.., about their professional and private condition those days. Btw, all that happen in a country without Seselj's influence.., as you say.. It should be "better" without Seselj.., or not? 5000 euros is a yearly police protection for smaller gambling business. That's the price in Serbia without Seselj., 30 euros for a safe Coffee drinking- anywhere or 50- 100 for a lunch (up to 10- 15 persons.. All that if someone is interested for guaranteed minutes or hours of peace in Serbia.., without Seselj. The criminals are being "legally" replaced and there's no practical difference if you want and if you're ready to pay. So welcome to new Serbia- without Seselj, who likes!

No wonder there are those intellectuals who feel Serbia may not be ready for the EU.Honeslty , can you blame them?

You are mistaken, it is the intellectuals that see the EU is a western self-destructive sham that can only create more economical despair, to conlclude with a higher rate of control.

This clown made a living from portraying all things Serb as being oppressed and victims of some form of dark force , and he was the light and truth of freedom. All this guy ever did was instigate hate and suffering. Yea a real inspiration!
When someone misguidedly praises Hitler or Stalin , they quite deservedly are condemend , yet when a Serbian extremist is rightly and justly pursued and prosecuted he is now a victim of the evil west.It seems there are some extremists that dont understand the word "hypocracy". Why are so many on this site so obsessed with praising people who caused so much utter devistation , hatred and lasting biterness & suffering. No wonder there are those intellectuals who feel Serbia may not be ready for the EU.Honeslty , can you blame them?

So it turns out that Šešelj has a heart after all.,,

But something is wrong with it. No surprise there.

All the same, he should live a long life, so he has a chance to see a judgement delivered and ample opportunity to reflect upon the evil that he and his followers have inflicted on others.

Is this how it will all end for Seselj? I don't know, but I can tell you in Serbia he is increasingly a marginal figure.

So much so that a few provincial policemen felt free enough to beat up his son recently, after he verbally abused them. Time was when nobody would dare to do something like that, even after he was sent to the Hague they still would not dare.

Whether Seselj will ever get the chance to correct that huge political error he made with Nikolic is another matter. Once this guy was a clever political operator with connections everywhere. Now not only is he politically marginal, but who knows if he will recover from surgery.

Certainly not the future he had in mind when he handed himself over to the Hague.

What happened to democracy?

Innocent till proven guilty?

They wont even allow him to leave his cell to get proper medical attention.

A Serbian war crimes defendant in the Hague with a heart condition, where have I read this story before? I hope the outcome will be different.

Yes, let's hobe he will be smarter than the other guy who refused to be treated by doctors in the Hague and insisted on being sent to hospital in Russia.

Seselj volunteered for this surgery? That's hard to believe. I'd like to hear what he had to say about his decision, if any, to go through with the surgery. I recall in the trial transcripts that he had some choice things to say about the prospects.

Trial transcripts 9/10/2010, page 18403

"... For the first half of October, a surgical intervention has been planned for me, called ablation. They need to insert a catheter into an artery in my leg which is supposed to go all the way to the heart, where they are supposed to burn a vessel. That's what they're saying. Some other people are saying that what they want to burn is the love in my heart, and if they do that, then only the hatred will remain. But I have immense hatred towards The Hague Tribunal, all European institutions, and all my enemies and so on. But let's see how that will transpire. In the meantime, what is particularly indicative under these circumstances? ..."

Milosovic died at the hands of the Hague, let's hope Seslj does not. He has been there for years on trial and the US sponsored kangaroo court will have to leave him go soon. They are scared that he may rock the boat by turning against the EU and towards Russia. How 'convenient' for them if he died. If he does die, the Hague will look like a concentration camp.
