"Wikileaks quickly gains our credability with info we already knew about US military and it's actions in a way media could not regain it's credability after WMD's in Iraq.

(Wondering, 27 October 2010 14:14) "

This is one of the reasons I see for not executing Aziz - he confirms that Saddam was intentionally misleading not only foreign intelligence sources about having WMD, but his own military commanders. These poor guys expected, even after the invasion began, that Saddam was simply waiting for the real fighting to begin to bring out all kinds of surprises. Then they were the ones surprised, when they learned that Iraq had nothing of the kind. In an attempt to scare Iran off, Saddam ended up losing his country and his life.

Wikileaks quickly gains our credability with info we already knew about US military and it's actions in a way media could not regain it's credability after WMD's in Iraq. Once trust is gained what is when wikileaks releases documents about(hazarding to guess) Iran completing it's Nuclear programme and bent on sending a few?????? We all start believing in a justified US military invasion. Wikileaks mmm?

As an "Westener" and Pro-American, I'm very thankful for Wikileaks. This page gives the word "Media is the 4th force in a democratic state" strength. Even a democratic regime is not perfect and commits errors and crimes. It is necessary to expose that, so that the future can learn from that error.

Moreover, it is great to see that Wikileaks doesn't limit its activities to the US and gives all Anti-Western Trolls and hatemongers a plattform to lash around, but also tackles the real problem states, such as the autocratic regimes in the East. Noone can even say that this is an "Western-Campaign", or any other nonsense to divert guilt. Wikileaks has become the ultimate weapon for anyone who has blood on his hands. I would call this a great development which will be much more problematic for the dictatorships in the world as for the US, which has to learn from the errors in the past.

I dare the Yankees to allow an objective panel of judges at the Hague to investigate the allegations! (lowe, 26 October 2010 18:00)

lowe, the words objective & Hague are what can only be described as an oxymoron.

"The documents suggest U.S. forces turned a blind eye to evidence of torture by the Iraqi authorities. Other files reveal that the number of civilian casualties was far greater than Washington admitted."

I dare the Yankees to allow an objective panel of judges at the Hague to investigate the allegations! The world's self-proclaimed defender of freedom and human rights being suspected of conspiring to commit the worst atrocities!

Right you are, Fox news is certainly the worst of all propaganda machine, just recall their covering of the Irak war, but at the ends it unfortuntely feeds the mind of a lot of uneducated people!

the war for democracy at its best...., the perfect lecture for some trolls around here!

You're right in describing wikileaks report as the triumph of democracy.

However, there are many people who do not share this point of view.

For example Christian Whinton ,amongst may others,a
contributor to fox news described the wikileaks as an "enemy combatant" and its revelations as "a political warfare abainst the United States".

Having said the above i don't think Whinton's views are the prevailing ones in the wider US public.
Fox News always devises a fictional, hyperbolic narrative of world affairs in order to use public opinion as leverage in US domestic affairs favouring the interests of R Murdoch and the Republican Party.
