People would give you the respect you so obviously crave if you stopped creating multiple identities / multiple voting in order to feel as if your opinion was shared by everybody. I mean God you are not even either proud or clever enough to try to what you do. Develop some personal dignity or principle would you?

The fact is, as Zoran would probably tell you with some regret, that my opinion on a number of issues are shared by most Serbians. I won't bother outlining them for you because I think you somewhere below Mircea due to your troll capacities, and on the basis of that I'm not suprised you hold mistaken political opinions as well.

The government has serious problems heading its way Zoran - blah blah blah. Do you know for how many years Milosevic had serious problems and despite all those massive defeats he still managed to stay in power? You better get used to disappointment and count your blessings that the body bags are not piling up, that hundreds of thousands of new refugees / IDP's are in the country. Thats before getting to the worst hyperinflation in Balkan history, economic decline, sanctions etc.

Its understandable as you were not living here at that time, but you have no sense of perspective whatever.

On the one side is Serbia on the other is the US/EU, but they could not be sure that they had the numbers to defeat Serbia’s resolution so the mighty compromised – let me spell it out for you again; the mighty had to compromise. Why would the west have to allowed talks when they were against them in any form or shape??????? Read the tea leaves.
These talks will go around and around in circles and go nowhere. You see they want Serbia to open its borders to the Albos to look for work because the Kosovo paradise is not working. The resolution is not worth the paper it’s written on.
(sj, 19 October 2010 23:59)
Maybe you missed some of the hundreds of news articles where the west had been calling for technical talks for the last 2 years. Serbia has insisted talks only on status for the last 2 years.
Now your president is saying missing persons is a good safe place to start on talks, as previously mentioned by the west.
So who caved?? Look up the rocks are falling around you.

You have no one in authority, speaking the status word in Serbia in relation to the talks, now.

Zoran

bganon, sounds like that came straight from the Ministry of Propaganda. Anyway, the government has serious problems heading its way. The question now being, is it going to focus on the people of Serbia or its masters in the West?

Please Zoran, feeding the "hooligans" is a futile quest as they will defend their "glorious" past with Otpor/NED/Soros no matter what. Your point is well taken and understood by everybody except disillusioned former Otporistas and sorosian day-dreamers sitting on their hands waiting for payment that never will show up. These people are even backstabbing each-other now days and will do no more harm to Serbia.

True, but here is another one for you; the new Iraqi Government will be friendly towards Tehran, ha, ha, ha. How incompetent do you have to be to allow that to happen????? Is ineptitude a new subject at West Point or Washington?

Zoran there are many differences between football hooligans linked to the mafia / extreme right wingers and OTPOR who were drawn from the educated.

In Serbian terms OTPOR was a Johny come lately creation even if some of their leaders had roots in earlier student protests against Milosevic. Additionally you will see that unlike the Kosovo protest rent a mob (not the main protest but a definite part of the protest) October 2000 was drawn from all age groups, all clases and all backgrounds.

You set far too much importance to OTPOR - Milosevic was finished in any case, after Kumanovo and after mismanagement of Serbia is both democratic and economic terms. OTPOR did not destroy Milosevic, he destroyed himself, the Serbian people knew it and thats why they got rid of him. They were not manipulated en masse, they were sending a clear message that all of Serbia had had enough of failed policies.

No amount of bleating about OTPOR or its financing can change that fact.

Hi Swiss, my point is that today the hooligans are "criminals" as described by this government. Back in 2000 the hooligans (Otpor) were "traitors" as described by the then government. However, they are both destructive hooligans that rise up in difficult times - here, France and other places.

Yes, it's long overdue so lets catch up for a Jelen and wine later in the week. Cheers! :)

bg, you missed the point. The "rent-a-mob" are potentially there in every generation. The hooligans of today aren't the same Otpor hooligans but they are both disillusioned teenagers who are easily manipulated to rise against the failing "regime".

When a country is doing well, these people are usually employed or studying instead of causing trouble in the streets.

Some EU leaders are beginning to seriously worry about the situation in Serbia because they know that if it blows up again they nor the US will be able to lift a finger – this is not 1999 boys and girls but 2010 going on to 2011. The US and NATO are on the brink of a catastrophic defeat in Afghanistan and that’s a fact no matter how they try and sugar coat it for their respective audiences. Hilary Clinton wonders around like a “gluvo kuce” and makes “motherhood” statements of no changes to policy knowing quite well this is totally untrue. I know that the Chinese laugh at her rantings.

The only way for the government quislings to claim to power is the Georgian scenario, (where the other not yet rolled back western puppet resides by force & fear), by extreme violence and crack down on popular uprising. But that will not last for long.

Good point there. I think Serbia is next in line for a "velvet" revolution reversal. The best way to do this will be at the next election, much like they did in the Ukraine.

Being a lefty myself, what I don't like about this apparent "left" government is they've aligned themselves with the western and US right, while the opposition are more aligned with the international left. That's where Serbia gets its overwhelming support.

wtf

Violent or not, the former Otporists turned "hooligans" have shown the once paralyzed serbian nation the way, as has the greeks & the french people. The only way for the government quislings to claim to power is the Georgian scenario, (where the other not yet rolled back western puppet resides by force & fear), by extreme violence and crack down on popular uprising. But that will not last for long. As Diana Johnstone noted:

"On October 5, 2000, the regular presidential election process in Yugoslavia was boisterously interrupted by what the West described as a “democratic revolution” against the “dictator”, president Slobodan Milosevic. In reality, the “dictator” was about to enter the run-off round of the Yugoslav presidential election in which he seemed likely to lose to the main opposition candidate, Vojislav Kostunica. But the United States trained and incited the athletically inclined youth organization, Otpor (“resistance”), to take to the streets and set fire to the parliament in front of international television, to give the impression of a popular uprising. Probably, the scenarists modeled this show on the equally stage-managed overthrow of the Ceaucescu couple in Rumania at Christmas 1989, which ended in their murder following one of the shortest kangaroo court trials in history. For the generally ignorant world at large, being overthrown would be proof that Milosevic was really a “dictator” like Ceaucescu, whereas being defeated in an election would have tended to prove the opposite."

I can almost feel the Tadic angst to be the (real) dictator when the crowd comes shaking his tree.

Poor old Tadic is beginning to feel the heat. It’s not hooligans he is talking about but a well organized and resurgent right that is now backed a power that wants to control the region. He is worried about the Euros he will miss out if he is removed from office, but things are underway that will make this inevitable. You see the economy has not improved and all the borrowings from the IMF has only been use to pay day to day bills.
Unfortunately, telling people on TV that things have improved has to match up with reality. There was a joke that came out of the Soviet Union. The “Ministry of ….. would announce that living standards had increased, for example 500 million pairs of shoes were made the previous year, but people then ask why are we walking around in bare feet?”

Now, Miss Bganon/Top, sing your Otpor™ swan-song...

I know that the Chinese laugh at her rantings.

whizzo / wtf / Go East etc.

How true your posting S.J.The
US and nato are urging Karzai to talk to Taliban. The truth is the US and Nato are preparing the terms of surrender in way that they will not seem to be defeated. The problem is that mullah Omar doesn't want to play ball.

Of course 2010 is not 1999.The US is on the brink of a catastrophic economic crises the likes we haven't seen before. They will try to inflate their way out of the crisis until the dollar is completely worthless.

I don't think anybody takes Hillary's waffles seriously.

That's where Serbia gets its overwhelming support.

bganon, sounds like that came straight from the Ministry of Propaganda. Anyway, the government has serious problems heading its way. The question now being, is it going to focus on the people of Serbia or its masters in the West?

Hmm since most of the hooligans are teenagers that would have made them about 8 or 9 years old when they stormed parliament...

bg, you missed the point. The "rent-a-mob" are potentially there in every generation. The hooligans of today aren't the same Otpor hooligans but they are both disillusioned teenagers who are easily manipulated to rise against the failing "regime".

When a country is doing well, these people are usually employed or studying instead of causing trouble in the streets.

bganon

pre 13 godina

Cheers! :)

As to the teens, not necessarely disillusioned, just look what happened in the civilized France today, hooligans in Paris and mainly in Lyon where they burm down a school, abt 60 cars, robbed all on their way, police comments: very mobile and organized ! Belgrade events were looking pale next to those :) I hope that it will not be Danilo next destination...
Lets catch up again with a Jelen :) cheers

True, but here is another one for you; the new Iraqi Government will be friendly towards Tehran, ha, ha, ha. How incompetent do you have to be to allow that to happen????? Is ineptitude a new subject at West Point or Washington?

On the one side is Serbia on the other is the US/EU, but they could not be sure that they had the numbers to defeat Serbia’s resolution so the mighty compromised – let me spell it out for you again; the mighty had to compromise. Why would the west have to allowed talks when they were against them in any form or shape??????? Read the tea leaves.
These talks will go around and around in circles and go nowhere. You see they want Serbia to open its borders to the Albos to look for work because the Kosovo paradise is not working. The resolution is not worth the paper it’s written on.
