U.S.: 2.2 million Windows PCs in botnets

A new report published by Microsoft shows that more than 2.2 million PCs running Windows in the United States have been recruited into botnets.

... true, but out of curiosity: how many are running Open Solaris, BSD, Linux, Mac OS?

Windows is good mostly for games only - but each of the above has some sort of Windows compatibility layer. OK, some games with fast graphics really need Windows running natively.

The solution: while playing and only while playing boot the machine in Windows natively. Otherwise there are clear other choices for both productivity and fun.

For mass storage - btw - I think, Windows is much more complicated. Try to set up a RAID-10 with a sub-$99 two port eSATA 6G controller and two port multipliers on the Mac versus Windows. In one case it's like 1-2-3. In the other case you will learn, what the hell is or in Russian "where the crayfish lives during the winter" ("где раки зимуют").

Plus it's nearly twice as fast on the Mac or Linux.
