A Ministry of Justice official says the recent hooligan violence in Belgrade and Genoa was in fact a message sent to Serbia's European path.

Next time leave it alone and wait for an Albanian to answer instead of you simply injecting your bit of hatred. I wonder why you couldn't help yourself.

Siimply because your emotional, biased, uninformed posts are a distraction. You don't even bother to consider the facts on the ground. I don't know if you have a dead Grandfather that was born in Serbia or once dated a Serbian immigrant to Australia, but your kind (the same as those virulent pro-albanian posters who default to Serb= Bad)are part of the problem here. If outsiders kept the emotion out of it, many of the problems here could be corrected by the people who live here. To me, you are a detested symbol of what is wrong in this region. Many pro-Serb posters here do not default to Albanian=Bad and they deserve some respect.

Good grief! Of all the things you can call those sticks the police use to pacify a resister, apparently the one thing you can't call one is a "bully club". So - **billy** club, truncheon, baton, cosh, Paddywacker, billystick, b'tawn, nightstick, sap, blackjack, ...

(Aleks, 13 October 2010 18:24)"

Well, for a start, you've received the White Schengen, which is making it possible for 10x as many Serbs as in the past to apply for asylum in Sweden this year (not that visa-free travel was intended to allow for that, of course).

There are also millions of euros worth of aid (not loans), assistance with reforming the legal system so as to make it more attractive to foreign investment, not to mention fairer for its own citizens, a deal allowing Serbia to export with lower or no tariffs to the EU, police training (so that they respond to rioters with with tear gas rather than bully clubs, water cannon, rubber bullets, and the like.) Probably "and so on," but you get the idea.

Maybe you should tell your brothers in Kosovo not to kill Serbs under that flag and it won't be touched.
Why don't you speak up and tell them that by flying YOUR flag they are discrediting the whole of Albania? They have committed brutal crimes and murders of Serbs under that flag so you should be telling them to fly their own flag "flag of Kosova" instead when they go on their wild murderous rampage (see year 2004) and the bloody 90s.

I believe that what happened in Italy was not a rare display of hooliganism/nationalism/racism.All too many times we have witnessed Serb hooligans trying to assert themselves by burning the Albanian flag and chanting "Kill the Albanians". I believe that Serb hooligans simply wanted to make a rally cry by burning the Albanian flag hoping that the Italian fans would join in. Well it backfired and the result was rather dissapoiniting for all sides. The idea that there is a conspiracy theory behind only helps the Serb government
to get itself out of this mess and to improve its public image which quite frankly has been ruined irreparably for the time being.

I am Italian and I'm comimg to Serbia on regular basis since 2004. I was for the first time ever scared last sunday, finding myself in the middle of one of those hooligans marches in Belgrade. Tuesday night I was watching the match and againg the same scaring sensation. I hope that the Goverment of Serbia and the very many Serbian citizens who care about the future of the country will not underestimante these events, by archiving them as isolated small violent groups actions. They were very many of them and certainly very well organised!React to these criminal acts and send out clear signals to the rest of the world! I want to continue to come to Serbia and bring more and more Italian friends with no problems! Giorgio

(Ks, 13 October 2010 13:13)
I have to disagree. This is a sharp contrast in when the "peaceful protest" of Kosovo independence took place and police were actually pulled out of certain areas to let the "hooligans" do their deed "for" the govt.
Also I do not think you can judge the Serbian populus for comments in this forum. Most are those who fled the homeland for a better life but want to maintain their Serbian pride at the cost of those who remain.
The others are extremists who use the forum as a means to safely project their hatred.
Neither of which should be held as a true picture of the Serbian people.

(Ark I, 13 October 2010 17:10)
Burning flags of whatever country these flags represents have no point at all, actualy I find these people as a weak gesture or desperation from their part, the same goes for our other neighbor Greece that keep runing their mouth about their neighbors how brave they are wich in reality they are scared as hell when it comes to act, and that's from my personal experience by the way.

Ark I

pre 13 godina

My previous comments regarding the flag doesn't mean I condone the actions those Serbs did at the football game. I was just pointing out things that I thought should be pointed out.

I wonder what those people thought they would accomplish by their foolish behaviour at the game? Nothing useful came out of their behaviour, they only showed themselves to be a disgrace to Serbia. They should know that any foolish behaviour they do will only be highlighted by the western news to be used against Serbia.

Those Serbs and others with the same kind of mind, need to look into theirself and instead do something useful for Serbia.

Leo

It is sad to see some Serbs still feel they must continually apologize for moderate riots while the EU and US need not apologize for anything. The sight of Tadic bowing and scraping to Clinton as she congratulated him for obeying orders should embarrass you. Curiously she did not press Tirana on gay rights.

Ark I

Enio, as it has been mentioned by others already, usually when the Albanians in Kosovo are waving a flag, it is the Albanian flag, not the EU Kosovo flag. If that was not the case, it would have been more likely that the EU Kosovo flag would have been burned instead. So many Albanians here are making a big deal about the flag burning when the Serbian flag is burned in Kosovo and also Serbian people, churches, cars and homes are burned, destroyed or pillaged in Kosovo.

This is the same as when the Albanians who comment here have so much to say anytime news is mentioned about a Serbian criminal in Kosovo, when there are many more criminal activities performed in Kosovo by Albanians, and not just against Serbs, but against many non-Albanians and even Albanians who won't follow them.

Look at these news articles talking about the Albanian Mafia in other countries in Europe or in the United States. In the news links below, there are statements like
"they commit the cruelest felonies"
or "Pimps have always used violence but these Albanian gangs are truly vicious."
or "They are a hardened group, operating with reckless abandon"
or "His victims told how even the slightest dissent was met with beatings and rape"
or "FBI officials said Russian and many other organized crime groups operating in the United States are much more sophisticated and less violent than the Albanians."
or "The Albanian criminal enterprises, operating largely in New York and other Eastern seaboard cities, represent a major challenge to federal agents because of their propensity for violence and brutality"
and also from one of the articles, from the words of one of the Albanian Mafia members "We can use guns, we control the prostitutes in Soho and we are investing in London heavily. We fear no one and the law cannot do anything to stop us."
and even as far back as 1985 in a Wall Street Journal article, this quote "Violence within the Albanian community can be particularly brutal"

If there is anger in Serbia towards the government it is far more likely to be that for all the fine words by Tadic and co. about moving towards europe, where are the results? What kind of deal is it that one side promises but doesn't deliver, yet the other side still holds to the deal. Remember Tadic and co. only won the last elections by a hair's breadth and with the heavy intervention of quite a number of major western state ministers, even though this clearly predjudice's the whole electoral system and the vote.

Something is going on in Serbia. We have the last few weeks seen small subtle events that put together form a clearer pattern. Individually, they are just one incident but together they speak a clear message.

Again you can see what happens when you press someone over and over again. Each pressure can seem annoying but certainly not unbearable. Continued pressure without any improvements add up to a fury in response.

Let us hope that there are some smart advisers to EU governments who now realizes that they have pressed Serbia to the precipice edge.

Resentment and hopelessness have been a dress rehearsal that Serbia no longer want to play the role of a prostitute.

Also I do not think you can judge the Serbian populus for comments in this forum. Most are those who fled the homeland for a better life but want to maintain their Serbian pride at the cost of those who remain.

Well, for a start, you've received the White Schengen, which is making it possible for 10x as many Serbs as in the past to apply for asylum in Sweden this year (not that visa-free travel was intended to allow for that, of course).

There are also millions of euros worth of aid (not loans), assistance with reforming the legal system so as to make it more attractive to foreign investment, not to mention fairer for its own citizens, a deal allowing Serbia to export with lower or no tariffs to the EU, police training (so that they respond to rioters with with tear gas rather than bully clubs, water cannon, rubber bullets, and the like.) Someone has to learn about democracy:
1. The Serbian government has been democratically elected.
2. So they decide about the future of the country.
3. If the "vast majority" doesn't like what their government is doing, they can vote for Radicals or other nationalistic extreme parties in the next elections.
4.If it's real a "vast majority", then these Anti-EU parties will win.

Simple and easy. That's how it works in a democracy, wtf, and not by rioting and vandalizing or showing sympathy for those brainless hooligans.

They don't like the government, they don't like the EU and they feel Kosovo is and always will be, Serbia. That's all I have to say. They could be organised, or it could just be angry citizens.

Vanja

pre 13 godina

Continued pressure may well mean state seppuku. Then the hell brakes loose again.

Aleks

This guy should put up or shut up. If he has evidence then present it, if not, leave it to the tabloids and gossip papers.

Where are the results Tadic?

I wonder what those people thought they would accomplish by their foolish behaviour at the game? Nothing useful came out of their behaviour, they only showed themselves to be a disgrace to Serbia. They should know that any foolish behaviour they do will only be highlighted by the western news to be used against Serbia.

Those Serbs and others with the same kind of mind, need to look into theirself and instead do something useful for Serbia.
