--BELGRADE -- Police Director Milorad Veljović told Beta news agency that a list of persons who were to spearhead riots in Belgrade was found.

According to this, the list was found on the person of Mladen Obradović, the arrested leader of the far-right organization Obraz.

The rioting on Sunday was aimed against the gay pride parade in Belgrade.

Veljović described Obradović as "one of the main organizers" of the Oct. 10 riots. According to him, the attacks on police were very organized, synchronized, and no accident. --

so, what a surprise. not. in fact, i just wrote, insisted: this rioting is not spontaneous, it was LED. organized. by professional fascists. so thanks to this article (and others) that quickly backed me up.

it is pointless to simply focus on "hooligans" as though they are so engaged in complex political strategizing... they're not! they're the armed stormtroops, so to speak, but they are being led, pushed, manipulated. not that i sympathize w/ them, i don't. i agree they should be subjected to tough sentences. but if you don't deal with the organizers, the heart of the dragon, it will just continue, keep happening, at each and every opportunity.

yr govt needs to seriously confront them, and needs to STOP promoting its non-stop campaign of (verbal, so far) aggression in the balkans. in that way, specifically, it does compare to the bad old days of the milosevic era, which so successfully brainwashed and carried otherwise decent and normal people, and you know i am right.

my frnds (fr serbia) would tell me: you can't imagine what it is like -- the tv, day after day, night after night, those insistent images (mostly fr ww2)that just turned people into raging nationalists... and now, with the "democrats," we continue on this same track.

something's gotta give, unless we want to see this rioting again and again and again.

forget about the $$ costs. next time, people could die, big time. it's a miracle it didn't happen this time.

food for thought.

You can "find" anything as long as you dont provide any or false evidence, so this is just typical Tadic regime rubbish.

However, how about a list of those foreign agent provocateurs organizing the gay parade in an environment hostile to such american trends and yet more western NGO foreign intervention? Im sure they would come up with a bunch of interesting material. If you are unsure about what an "NGO" is, check this Counterpunch piece:

And this should surprise anyone? If you want to read a little more about this extremist, look here: http://sr.wikipedia.org/sr-el/%D0%9E%D1%82%D0%B0%D1%87%D0%B0%D1%81%D1%82%D0%B2%D0%B5%D0%BD%D0%B8_%D0%BF%D0%BE%D0%BA%D1%80%D0%B5%D1%82_%D0%9E%D0%B1%D1%80%D0%B0%D0%B7

So the majority of those 'protesting' were not from Belgrade.

Two things come to mind. Its no wonder that they have no civic pride in a city they have no love for - probably to some of them Belgrade with its more cosmopolitan and varied outlook represents everything that is wrong with the country.

Secondly remember this protest took place early in the morning. In other words buses would have had to have been laid on and paid for. You can bet that most did not pay to travel to Belgrade, but as with bus travel to political events some political organisation / individual paid. It should not be too difficult to find out who did this.

The organisers of the violence, looting and destruction must be found and brought to justice.

One other comment made by that Dragisic security analyst guy (even if he supports NATO membership), either somebody at BIA is incompetant or they knew about this and refused to share information with MUP - police. I say this because the police did not know where exactly the attacks would take place in advance, commanders were obviously not briefed even though they reacted where they could.

Its either than or Dacic and this team messed up, either way an investigation is necessary and people should be called to account.
