Because "what's part of Serbian culture" isn't what defines "what's allowed to happen" in a modern state. The rule of law does.

The State has tolerated, and even at times encouraged, this sort of behaviour, and now they are surprised when they get bitten in the ass. Wake up tadic and co. It's time to put your money where your mouth is.

The same thing happened in Moscow last year. I don't understand, if something is not a part of Serbian culture (Gay Parades), why is it allowed to happen in Belgrade so openly.

Serbi's future certainly shouldn't be decided by supporters of football teams and idealisms that date back to XIX century. Times are changing for evryone in the world - Serbia is not an exception. People live for the future, not for the past and hystorical myths. And future is tolerance.

Tadic is at fault. He supported the queer march to show loyalty to his EU masters. Anti-gay protestors, to be sure, should not have attacked police but Tadic and Dacic bear all responsibility. Serbs are, generally, opposed to homosexuality and the government should have listened to the people. I fear Tadic will use this opportunity to arrest those who oppose him. The EU will surely look the other way.

The vandals will be prosecuted, authorities say.

"Both the hooligans and the organizers of today's violence will be arrested and brought to justice", Serbian President Boris Tadić announced.

Funny how he has no problem stating exactly this to his own people, BUT when the Serbs experience EXACTLY what hes pointing out, he sits in the corner all quiet.

What are you doing about the vandals scowering through southern Serbia? What are you doing about the Islamo-extremist instigating violence towards the Serbs?,,, bringing them to justice soon? , Didn't think so.

Funny how the spineless Tadic could not speak so forcefully about the violence in Pec !! Were Serbs allowed to "freely express" themselves that day? What did Tadic do to guarantee their rights that day? I believe Serbs exercised remarkable patience with these perverts today whose cause is pushed by their enemies and the spineless laughable toady Tadic!

"The Serbian government said it was taking all legal actions necessary for ensuring public order and that the perpetrators and organizers of the violence in the Belgrade streets would be brought to justice."

Exactly that. The only language those idiots can understand. They are only a minority, but a real shame for Serbia, these people!

If it'd been Delije, Dveri or Obraz parading against violent mainstream opposition and a police-parader ratio of 6-1, it would've been an embarassment for the organizers. Mr. Tadic, your people have spoken with ignoring the event, marching against it and even violence
