What is the game of using a fairly unique pen-name of someone who has been posting ehre for a long time? Nothing else to do? For the record, no post of mine would ever say anything written by Diana Johsntone "makes sense", least of all on the Balkans.

Agreed! The fact that the Yankees can support such a murdering dictator reveals the obnoxious double standards and hypocrisy blatantly practised by Washington. And yet they had the gall to always claim the moral high ground on issues of human rights in other anti-US countries!

I agree with you.The US has never conducted any principled, coherent foreign policy but a blinkered one based on the interests of the military/multinationals complexes and the rightwing ideology of cold war ideologues.

It was the US which armed Saddam Hussein, destabilised Mussadeq at the behest of the British, backed Marcos,
backed Noriega,backedPinochet
put the Khmer Rouge back in power as revenge against the Vietnamese, backed the Greek Colonels in 1967 to mention few.

The funny thing is the US expects loyalty from pakistan.

“Anyways, when the Georgian dictator falls, so will the Serbian soon after and the Colour revolutions™ of NED & Soros will hit the dustbin of history rather forgotten”

Very funny. So I suppose you are calling the October mass people’s uprising against Milosevic a mere ‘Colour Revolution” like the putch that brought Saakasvilli to power. One obvious difference, it would seem to me (apart from the fact that Milosevic was already finished in the polls in late 1996, regardless of Soros funding for Otpor etc in 2000) is that the Serbian uprising ended the reign of a chauvinist ruler who reveled in suppressing Kosovo, while the Georgian putch brought to power Milosevic’s political first cousin who launched a Slobo-style murderous assault on South Ossetia.

But really, anyway, if you think October 2000 was a “colour revolution” that will soon end in the “dustbin of history”, do you mean that Milosevic and the Radicals will be back in power soon in Serbia? I assume you are not that silly.

But in any case, look at what you are saying. The SP is now in power, in the government of Tadic, which you hate; the October 2000 uprising brought to power … Kostunica, who you love. Don’t blame me for your utter confusionism.

I have to admit that i was mistaken on my evaluation on Saaksvili's future after the events in Ossetia in 2008.

I really thought that Saak was a dead zombie walking and
his friends at Langley USA will find him a place in US to spend more time with his family(supposedly).

Here we are two years onwards and he's still in power. This could be due either to the impotence of the opposition or to Saak's dictatorial grip on power in Georgia.

Saakashvilli's secret police has threatened to kill family members of opposition leaders, and also his cabinet members get jailed after coming out with accusations against him.

I am still of the opinion that Saakshvili will have to go because of the decline in the relative power of the US/UK block due to the fundamentals. The Germans, French, etc. siding with Russia against Georgia is part of this large realignment of power relations in the Caucasus region.

Koštunica, what the heck are you waiting for?

Not that anything will happen since the current quisling regime is installed by the west and endorsed by their "tribunal" any way.

I would have preferred a kind of "peoples tribunal" kind of a thing and try him for crimes and treason against Serbs and Serbia.

Anyways, when the Georgian dictator falls, so will the serbian soon after and the Colour revolutions™ of NED & Soros will hit the dustbin of hiostory rather forgotten.
