--According to the amended indictment of the High Prosecutor's Office, Mirjana Marković will be tried for abuse of power because she used her influence as a president of the Yugoslav Left to illegally grant an apartment to one Ilona Pešić.--

What a d-mned joke.

Markovic is guilty of a plethora of crimes that involve the thievery and decimation of the people of ex Yu.

markovic is guilty of -- at the very least -- helping to plot the murder of prominent persons, incl stambolic, crujvac (sp?) -- the "missing" journalist... and very possibly the assassination of djindjic himself. she was immersed in a decade of the worst kinds of corruption. and yet she is "wanted" only for influence on illicitly obtaining an apt for an associate -- give me a break!

something like our al capone.

and yet, they don't have her, because their dear loyal russki allies are still protecting milosevic, to this day! she and her son (presumably) are sitting pretty in a moscow suburb with more dough than they'll ever know what to do with, and all that blood on her/their hands and no one can touch them, thanks to put-in.

but who cares? certainly not the, um, serb patriots, who are utterly silent on this matter.

they still protect their beloved milosevic. let sleeping dogs lie -- literally -- who cares about the legacy of crime, war crime, personal crime, all crime.

something basic is just missing...
