"Get a grip, do your job and catch the criminals in your turf for once. There are 10K NATO troops in Kosova, plus 3K EULEX police, plus 2500 home grown security forces plus K. police in a territory just a bit larger than metropolitan Berlin and yet Dacic is finding the lack of Serbia's sovereignity over Kosova to be the problem. "(miri, 6 October 2010 19:15)

Yes, the "souvereignity" is not the problem. The problem is the lack competence (or will) of the forces present in Kosovo. I think there must be an agreement with KFOR/EULEX not to interfer, otherwise, several high ranking Kosovo politicians or some of their clan members would have to be arrested, too. They fear a political vaccum causing in further unstabiltiy, that's why criminal politicians are still free. Remember the funny story when the Danish (or Swedish, I don't rememeber exactly) ambassador appealed the UN tribunal to temporarily release Haradinaj, because he's "an important person for the Kosovo society"?

Thank you mr Dacic for really making me laugh, damn you're funny. Does he know that Belgrade is number ONE when it comes to drug dealing (trafficking) in the region? There could be Balkan-Belgrade connection LOL.

It is easy to blame the others, but I hope everybody here knows that Kosovo is not in Afghanistan nor its neighbour (AC, VEV, KOSO made perfect statements). Then how does it reach other European countries??…through other Kosovo neighbours. I’ve read many articles recently on B92 on many arrests carried in Serbia related to drug dealing and I’ve also read about some other criminal groups composed of Serbs, Albanians, Montenegrins operating in the region etc, so this is why it is important to have a regional cooperation of the rule of law organs of every state, including Kosovo, instead of making accusations. You can reach a good level of coordination only if everyone in the region lives in reality and accepts it.
"There is no rule of law in Kosovo now and this is the result," Let me rephrase this: There is no rule of law in the northern part of Kosovo and this is the result and reason why KFOR, EULEX and Kosovo Police have started taking more strict measures in that part and you must be supportive to those measures.

The Taliban send most Afghan heroin through the Balkins because probably radical Islamists in the Balkins use the stuff to be bold, hardened, fearless; tough, domineering and of course the stuff gets sold to anyone willing to buy it who is not a part of law enforcement against illict drugs. Look at the high number of Wahabbists in Bosnia Hercegovina. Do you think they can easily adapt to such austerity? High numbers of them probably take such drugs to force themselves into such strict discipline. And Kosovo, people can look and act like everyday, mundane people but still load up on drugs. Look at the high unemployment, pressure for Muslims to be more traditional, tensions between ethnic Albanians and Serbs, etc.

Is afgan drug route to EU competing with south american (controlled by Serb mafia) drug route to the same destination??
This must be the real reason that mr.Dacic is so upset.

There is a connection between Afghanistan and Kosovo and the why the US wants to control both.

What a diletant! Same mud throwing game. First demonize, and after that send the army to kill and pilage. Same old Serbian tactics.

And look who is talking about organized crime the country of Arkan(s), Zemun Clan, and slaughtered prime ministeres. Ohh please.

It is precisely because of this mentality that there will not be a reconciliation soon between the two people, and why Kosovo should be an independent state.... Serbia never learned how to be a responsible mother country to Kosovo and it's people, always try to bully and demonize them.

Interesting. I once heard the three main currencies in the world are gold, oil and drugs. Looks like NATO now controls the drug trade - Afghanistan, Kosovo and Colombia. Afghanistan was the first to recognise "Kosova". I wonder why?

miri

How ridiculous.
This guy goes to talk about drug trafficking and there he goes: Kosovo, Kosovo, Kosovo, Kosovo, Kosovo...because...Kosovo ...status...Kosovo.

Get a grip, do your job and catch the criminals in your turf for once. There are 10K NATO troops in Kosova, plus 3K EULEX police, plus 2500 home grown security forces plus K. police in a territory just a bit larger than metropolitan Berlin and yet Dacic is finding the lack of Serbia's sovereignity over Kosova to be the problem.

I have a different thought. With the last blow in UN resolution, where Jeremic was sidelined, Jeremic refuses to continue on the impossible mission. He has been almost non-existent except his trip to Andora. Conversely Dacic has suddenly taken up the role of continuing the nonsense. He has been the most outspoken ever since the UN resolution. The other day he threaten war and the day before that he cackled the status issue again. I suspect there is some bizarre power quarrel within Serbian government and perhaps Dacic is preparing to secure his position in a different government structure. So he says something about certain status whenever he has the chance.

I posted on another thread just the other day official information from EUROPOL's 2009 organized crime report (OCTA) about all this:

None of what he says is made up. Albanian controlled part of Kosovo is the hub. If you don't like it, take it up with EUROPOL.

"A two-day high-level conference on security was held in Sochi, with officials from 44 countries participating."

One has to imagine Dacic in a big room standing in front of officials of 44 countries, possibly with a map of Europe behind his back. One has also to think that each official of those 44 countries has a whole ministry in the respective country which is working to gather data on traffic routes, costs, criminal groups etc etc. And then they hear Dacic say Afghanistan borders with Kosovo, which borders with the EU. Since I think Dacic is not this stupid, I believe this news is fabricated.

karlsdad

Nice try, Vev, you just couldn't pass up the chance to throw in your petty little Serb-hating remark, but the real culprit in allowing this Afghan heroin to get to Europe is the NATO. Serbia has to be involved because of geography. With orders from the US State Dept., the Afghan heroin could be destroyed with aerial weed killer. But why does the US not do this? The Afghan militants fund their war with this heroin, yet the US turns a blind eye. Instead they send unmanned drowns into Pakistan that kill more innocents, than combatants. I guess I just don't have a good enough military mind to figure this out.
