The reason they don't "think" they give themselves a a bad name is because of the Koran. Much like a market, the Koran gives opportunity for both love and war depending on the interpretation. You can find moderation and tolerance as easily as violence and suspicion.
IUnfortunatley, the Saudi contolled Sunni heirarchy, are changing the "word of god" to fit their political agenda. This, its an actual insult to Islam since the Koran is considered the acutal words of god translated by Mohammed the Prophet. These subtile changes are a contradition to the actual intent of the book. It has become obvious, that the radical side is using the Koran for it's political agenda by stroking the words of God for futher violence.
FYI: did you know Jesus Christ is mentioned more often in the Koran than Mohammed and that there is a full chapter dedicated to the Virgin Mary. Interesting?
