Very well posted ! The Albanians are proven wrong day after day, year after year. Albanians have seriously not much to be proud of. Not much history, no identity, disliked in every country they settle down (ask around if in doubt), no courage. No wonder they try to steal a bit of a sovereign country. Until now it has failed. To all Serbs; continue to fight for whats right. Right always prevail sooner or later.

Patriarchate of Peja is actually an Albanian Catholic Church of Orthodox rites which was serbinized by Serbs.

This church was never serb, ever!!!
Myths and lies!
(genti, 4 October 2010 12:22)

Genti,
What a lie/ or is this on purpose?
Archbishop Arsenije I build the the Serbian church of the holy apostles there (patriarchate of Pec) in 1250.
SO TO BEGIN WITH IT WAS SERBIAN FROM THE BEGINNING!

(Before you make any other catholic claims, until the 15th century kosovo was like 95-99% Serbian others were vlachs/germans/greeks and a few albanians who settled there.

(My God is greater than yours)

-- Yes there were. A few minutes on Google can stave off an embarrasing post:

http://english.blic.rs/Society/6939/Kosovo--Serbian-Jerusalem

"Enthronement of the Serbian Patriarch at the Pec Patriarchy was attended by 40 high officials of all Orthodox churches and about 30 high representatives of other Christian churches and traditional religious communities. The Vatican envoy, the Archbishop Kurt Koch said to have been attending the enthronement ceremony for the first time."

http://english.blic.rs/In-Focus/6930/Tears-of-joy-and-sorrow-at-enthroning-of-Patriarch

"Among significant guests at the ceremony there were Serbia President Boris Tadic, Emanuil, the Littoral Head from Istanbul, Ilarion, the Littoral Head from the Russian Church, Stanislav Hocevar, the Archbishop of Belgrade, the Karadjordjevic royal family, Yves de Kermabon, the EULEX Chief, Lamberto Zannier, the UNMIK Chief, Bulgarian Minister Bozidar Dimitrov who brought the icon of Bulgarian Saint Ivan as a present to Serbian Patriarch and many others."

The Orthodox Church is organized into several regional, autocephalous (governed by their own head bishops) churches. The Patriarch of Constantinopole has the honor of primacy, but does not carry the same authority as the Pope does in Catholicism. Major Orthodox churches include the Greek Orthodox Church, the Russian Orthodox Church, the Romanian Orthodox Church, the Bulgarian Orthodox Church, the Church of Alexandria, the Church of Jerusalem, the Serbian Orthodox Church and the Orthodox Church in America.
The religious authority for Orthodox Christianity is not the Pope as in Catholicism, nor the individual Christian with his Bible as in Protestantism, but the scriptures as interpreted by the seven ecumenical councils of the church.
Orthodoxy also relies heavily on the writings of early Holy fathers such as Gregory of Nyssa, John Chrysostom and St. Basil the Great. Although some Orthodox confessions of faith were produced in the 17th century as counterparts to those of the Reformation, these are regarded as having only historical significance.
Eastern Orthodoxy arose as a distinct branch of Christianity after the 11th-century "Great Schism" between Eastern and Western Christendom. Before that time Genc it was just the Christian Church. No history of a catholic church prior to the split. Sounds like you are trying to rewrite history because the Albanian People in Kosovo “DON’T HAVE A HISTORY OR LEGACY OF THERE OWN IN KOSOVO. By the way Einstein, I am a catholic.

It is good to see condemnation of this heinous act by many here. Were it not for the arrests (only 3 out of dozens) I just know that some simpletons would scream "Serbian MUP did this!"

Yes, this is directed at the likes of PRN, Pejoni, and Dwarf-USA.

I spoke with some very pro-Albanian internationals from ICO and EULEX who happened to be on one of the buses that was stoned... they were shocked, to say the least. These several dozen Albanians that did this really did quite a bit of damage to Kosovo's reputation from this stunt.

Lastly, it seems some try and justify violent acts by saying they were provoked. Since when does exercising free speech allow for violent retaliation? This reminds me of the violent responses by some cro-mags who killed people for drawing Muhammed... Like it or not, there is no excuse for violent retaliation for exercising the right to free speech. If you disagree then you may be more comfortable in Iran or Saudi Arabia.

Patriarchate of Pec was originally a Serbian Church, not an Albanian Catholic Church. The only "history" books that say otherwise are the "history" books that are now being made by Albanians in Kosovo.

"history" books that have chosen to ignore the battle of Kosovo in the attempt to remove that truth from history. Do Albanians actually believe that the battle of Kosovo never actually happened just because it is removed from their "history" books? Too bad for Albanians that it is not a few centuries earlier, where it was easier to remove truth from history. But now we are in the information age, and the real history will always be there, irregardless of the attempts of some to remove it.

As an Albanian I condemn this incident. Do you Serbs condemn the ‘inflammation’ speech of your religious leader?? Will wait for an answer.
Now to talk a bit more on the issue.
It is quite easy to draw conclusions by any side and accuse the other side of whatever comes to mind by only reading news articles, which sometimes do not present the full picture and even tend to be one sided. Every time a similar event takes place in Kosovo, Serbs provoke in any way possible, such as the speeches they give, the nationalist T-shirts they were, the raising of three fingers, their anti Albanian slogans, etc etc. So, as KLM said earlier, when you do such things, don’t try latter hiding behind “this was only a religious event” statements, because you yourself turn it in anything else but a religious event.

As an international living in Kosovo for the past 8 years and supporting the Albanian cause I am ashamed that 70 countries recognize Kosovo as a independent country. I witnessed the rock attack on Sunday. Why did the rock throwing begin when the Imam started his call for prayer? Where were the adult protestors? Looks like they encouraged the youth to carry out the dirty work. Why has the Government not come out with a statement against the violence on Sunday? Kosovo, Grow Up. The international community is starting to see your true colors. The attempt to have Albanians seen as the victim isn't working anymore. Where is the pride? Albanians in Kosovo make claims that they are of Illyrian decent. The actions on Sunday as not very Illyrian like.

Let's hope b92 does not change this:

I for one would not allow someone like the event of today become political. Serbian leaders and others have the opportunity to direct the poor serbian people away from hatred and lies. Instead of not mentioning kosovo as a province you go do the completely opposite and then want peace and love. Just don't mention it, its a win win, you dont offend others and you don't loose anything, this is for politicians. Second, there's a serbian flag that flows up and down the church. By doing the two above do you not realize that you are flushing down the drain the will of 2 mil people, and have no respect for them!

I think albanians are becoming tolerant; this event has gone too smooth considering what happened.

This is the independent, multi-ethnic, freedom-loving, Albanian Kosovo. Where Serbian officials, requesting entry as ordinary citizens for a religious event, are denied entry - where the local Albanians call the Serbian Orthodox patriarch a war criminal. I am speechless. I can only shake my head in disbelief. What in the world do the Serbs and Albanians have to talk about in the so-called "Talks". I say, isolate the SOB's in Pristina forever. These people are not of the 21st century, but savages. That is my opinion. You will never have an independent Kosovo, Albanians, NEVER!!

How on earth can anyone be denied access to their own country? Kosovo is according to Serbia and 70% of the rest of the world Serbia. As I see it, Serbia could have come with a couple of hundred tanks to secure the enthronment without the world would react. According to res 1244, Kosovo is a Serbian province, no more, no less. Thank God the negotiations are coming even if intelligence sources say that the Kosovar leadership is reluctant.

Looks like they encouraged the youth to carry out the dirty work. Why has the Government not come out with a statement against the violence on Sunday? Kosovo, Grow Up.
