B92 I am not very happy about someone copying just part of my submission in their own comment - and then repeating my 'signature'. This should be formatted differently.

In fact, quite a lot of posters copy large sections of other's comments - can this be stopped please?

Its indeed totally crazy this fixation on Mladic. Adolf Hitlers body was never found either. The Serbs should be stimulated to introduce the rule of law, make the legal system work, stop corruption, create a modern taxadministration, abolish tyconisation of society. Do all those things that would make it a better country in the EU than Bulgaria, Greece and Romania.
That will be much more convincing. Only when those things are realized it useful to open Mladic grave and present his bones to the world.

If this arrest is a condition for Serbia to join the EU, surely there is a duty of those making that condition to produce strong evidence that Mladic is actually located within Serbia's grasp?

This condition gives power to people and countries that want to stop Serbia joining the EU by giving Serbia the impossible task of arresting someone that cannot be arrested!

That's nonsense. Mladic only a few years ago was living in Serbia's army barracks, protected by the army, which is aside from Mladic's protector is also the guarantor of Serbia's constitutional order. This is a fact and we know it. There is video footage of this. Not only that but there's video footage of Mladic chilling in the center of Belgrade, going to parties etc etc. So nobody has to produce any evidence when there's actually strong evidence that the state of Serbia engaged its army to protect Mladic from the authority of the international court and international law. The fact is that he was in Serbia's grasp and Serbia refused to hand him over. This is also a fact. Because of this the burden is on Serbia.

This condition makes sure that whatever country refuses to acknowledge the authority of the international War Crimes court and hides its war criminals by using state institutions such as its army and military, is faced with harsh and just punishments. A country that willingly hides war criminals from justice has to be punished severely. The burden is on Serbia.

Who is protecting Mladic? Who consider him to be more important than his nation? I have the answer when I read posters on this forum!!

So your saying B92 fans are protecting Mladic? With what financial backing, or motive? I think the world knows that it is pointless to process Mladic through the Hague, Hague is meant to delay, delay and delay... nothing ever has gotten solved through this court's preceedings.

It should be obvious to the world, the game these internationals are playing. If Mladic was meant to be in hague, he would have been caught already. In this day in age it is not that difficult to track people down, especially if a legal warrant from the "kangaroo court" has been given.

People are protecting Mladic, the question is who, and why?

Mladic dealt personally with many other politicians during the wars, in which major amount of heat would be put on them.

"He pointed out that it was important to emphasize measures that led toward strengthening of stability in the Balkans but he also added that "the role of the prosecutor and the tribunal is to be the voice of the victims"."

Would that by why the ICTY sealed all the documents of its formerly secret investigation in to Alija Izetbegovic for war crimes when he died? Hmm, who's interest is that in?

I note that he is not supportive of the dutch line on Mladic, i.e. they have insisted that he be handed in before candidate status can be given, yet here it appears Brammertz is being careful and only talking of the condition as a prerequisite to actually becoming a member. Looks like he is finally doing what he is told by the Big Bosses.

Will the new dutchy government screw it all up???

That's all very fine and good, Mr. Chief Prosecutor Serge, but what if Ratko Mladic is in Russia or SouthAmerica? I do believe that some of these demands by Mr. Chief Prosecutor are personal, for the lack of putting Mladic on trial will be a sign of failure for this questionable court. Besides, think of all the additional funds, extension of time, publicity that would be involved here. As for the Hague being the voice of the victims, it seems that non-Serb victims have had a much stronger voice from Serge,

I am all for the arrest of Mladic - in fact I think he should give himself up.

However - as a serious question. Do these Hague representatives know for certain that Mladic is in Serbia?

I agree it seems likely that he his in the region, but he could be an another country.

If this arrest is a condition for Serbia to join the EU, surely there is a duty of those making that condition to produce strong evidence that Mladic is actually located within Serbia's grasp?
