"However, our progress towards the EU must not be conditioned by the specific terms and results of the Kosovo negotiations, because it would give an unacceptable boost to Priština and its provocations such as the recent destruction of Serbian Telekom Srbija telecommunications equipment. "

You do know that UK, France, Germany and the other 20 members do have voting a veto powers and as far as they're concerned 1244 defends Kosova's independence. Good luck trying to convince them to take their recognition back and vote you in rather than veto you out.

Ofcourse it had a positive effect. The pro-US/UK bureaucrats are losing power to the pro-RUS realists, how else does one explain the diplomatic mind-games played on the narco-politicians in Pristina? It's just a matter of time before UDI-retractions begin pouring in, first from Balkan S. Stream members, then from EU countries, esp now that the temp. inst. are crumbling with resignations & broken coalitions.
