he won´t be missed.

I am wondering anyway, how the K-albanians could have been admiring someone who has been looking quite foolish when attending the UNSC-sessions as a guest, and he was not even capable of speaking a single word in english.

what a "president"... indeed.

I´d call him an actor, not even a wanna-be-president.

A pity that some of the better politicians in Kosovo have to resign. But law is law, and it's good that he's someone who respects the courts decisions, unlike some other Kosovo politicians who think they are above the law.

The fact that he resigned should not amaze anyone. The highest court of the Republic of Kosovo which Sejdiu helped build decided he had violated the Constitution he had helped write.

What example would he have given to any citizen of Kosovo if he had not resigned.

Everyone should realize that he did not resign because he's a nice guy, he resigned because he had no choice.

Every single effort made by the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo to institute rule of law would have gone straight out of the window if he had not resigned. Thaci knew this and thats why he asked his 'personal' President to leave.

Wow, someone showing respect for a court opinion even if it is not in their favor. A novel idea in this forum, you think!

Yes, this resignation probably will add to his popularity. BTW: if I recall myself I rarely said or mocked him in last x number of years on this forum. Probably because it's not obligatory to be pro-Serb in order to be better respected as the usual criminal-turned-politicians. (OK, but for me being pro-Serb helps of course).

The other is of course Vlora Çitaku. I am sure she is not pro-Serb, but IMO she looks pretty damn good for my eyes at least, can't deny it.

The reason for the resignation is a lie. Maybe the albo mafia was about to grease him for something. In a pseudo-state that can't arrest corrupt "officials", nobody gives up power to obey some kind of constitution.

Yeah Sediju, maybe that's what Thaci will say when he tells the EU that the supervised independence is over (again). Of course, half of his cabinet are under investigation by EULEX. Rule of law in place? I don't think so and neither do the countries who support your UDI.

I am not that happy because he was relatively (by ex-Socialist standards: very much) corruption-clean and had no blood stains on his hands. There are hundreds of (much) worse guys all over the ex-Socialist countries. ***

The fact that he resigned shows him in positive light. I don't expect K-Albanian leaders being pro-Serb, but I expect them to be free of corruption, crime and without violent past in the civil war.

*** See... even that Frau Merkel. She was an FDJ activist, in one of her letters to supervisors she demanded more STASI undercover observers and she met her (German) husband in Leningrad as both were there on a summertime intern job.

But: now she as the daughter of a pastor is also an ex-victim of the Honecker-regime and it's now her who pushes the visa-free travel arrangement with Russia somewhat back, while Poland pushes it forward. Thanks, Ms. Merkel for nothing - you will be remembered as a true "Wendehals". More respect to Mr. Sejdiu than to you.

"Beta news agency reports that this came 'after the constitutional court said he was in breach of the constitution by remaining at the helm of his party'."

-- I guess another "illegal" operation shut down in Kosovo. Pristina's on a roll this week. And it's only Tuesday.
