Have never even set foot in a Serbian graveyard, no need to, not Serbian, not Albanian, not even a Kosovar.
I do know of another group that use to quote God's will and how it was under his law that a certain people were criminals, lazy, of low intelligence, and their lynchings were justified. That group was the KKK, I see no difference. It is all spreading hate in God's name and I am 100% sure it will receive its just rewards.

Artan,

No need to worry about my taxes or your's to that effect. You see by having a good UK university education I have spent a long time living and working in tax free countries. Thats why when I get home from my job I dress into shorts and hang around my pool. When I go out I go in 4 litre vehicle. So yes you could say it's like my prison cell - I'm a prisoner of Wealth. I plan to do this kind of life for another 6-8 years when I will collect all my wealth from the local account and take it to Fruska Gora (full of monasteries so I doubt your tolerance will let you visit) and invest hard cash into my retirement and the local community where I will add a touch of Scotland to the amazing culture of the Serbian Nation. I thought of Pristina but over the last 2 decades it's become a filthy dump.

Artan what is it you don't like about grey glasgow? The fact that it has more public green space than any other European city? Maybe it is the free galleries and museums where you can view a dali or a rembrant? Is it the vibrant nightlife? I wonder why it is the most visited city after London and edinburgh Just like pristina yes? You are one intolerant ignorant idiot.btw Scotland is and always will be. For so long as the majority want to remain in the UK then that is the way it will be. And you really do need to inform yourself of our history before you spout rubbish.

Mr "Jones"

if you are what you say you are, well oppression, suppression, land steeling, was the game of all occupiers in Kosova through the centuries, including what happened in scotland. so you should learn about history first cause of course i was being sarcastic about you lot that are confused about your identity beyond belief. where as if you really cared about your past, like we do, you would be a free country, like we are now, or like your brothers in ireland .

but on another hand maybe you are just so bored and desperate that you dont have any better things to do but spread propaganda and claim the dole (like half of the population)

so mr "i know it all" you should concentrate trying to get your country back before commenting onto others peoples history and internal affairs.

AS for my name well what can i say it does me a favor by adding a bit of colour to my life in this gray glasgow. but than im here only for investing for my future which i will enjoy all the profit living the live back in the free Kosova.

ohh yes bucki is on the way, since that'll keep you happy for few hours, but dont you be mis behaving cause than ill have to pay for your cell through my invisible taxes :)

LOL...:) I forgot that Rabbie Burns had a right hand man named Artan, yep with a name like yours you definately have a right to be there.

By the way I'm a Nationalist as for having our land revoked!!! I suggest you learn a wee bit of the history of Scotland before you embarrass yourself even further.

As for the Buckie..bring us more. Those Devonshire Monks certainly know how to make a good tonic.

I don't know why you people are discussing this much about this "article". I think that Kosova has its own fix and mobile operators operating under laws, regulations, etc, etc...
As long as serbs, don't realize that they are living in a country that is ruled by its elected institutions, they will continue facing this kind of "humility"...
WAKE UP, face the reality.
Cheers,

By not being allowed to have their telephone service, Serbs in Kosovo are at a great risk; they cannot use their telephones when there is an emergency inwhich every second counts. What if there was a medical emergency requiring an ambulance and a person is incapacitated?
(Stephen Paslow, 28 September 2010 03:21)
It's really easy, get licenced operators services as 90 % of population use, and you can call wherever you want, even you can call 112 free emergency call number and help will step up in your door.
Albanians in Presheva also don't have their own telephone services but they are doing quiet well using Serbia's operators...
Let's not be naive and use this nonsenses to try to put this as human right violation since it has nothing to do with that.

It is nonsense that one operator that dont pay taxes in one places for operating to operate there. Serbian population that leave in Kosovo has possibility to chose for vendor mobile operator and they can have also other telecommunication services. They are not isolated, just if they want to isolate thier self is other issue here than. But always serbs are trying to conect those thing as attack to them, but this is pure lie and it will not buy none. Every time there is resistence when rule is settled, but by the time things will be in thier own place as they should be.

As the successor state to Yugoslavia Kosovo is / was (which ever side of the fence your on)part of Serbia. Stealing is a criminal offence. However, paying for goods is perfectly legal. Cut the crap about illegal operations. We are talking about humans here. Show some humanity for God sake! If albanians are so sure of their independence why would this pose a threat to them? The truth is that everytime serbs show some good intentions albanians do the oposite. Albanians are the pirates of the Balkans. They can't and shouldn't be reasoned with. They are simply from another world.
(The Truth, 27 September 2010 19:03)

For your information, we showed a lot of humanity about this issu, i will mention a few for you:
*we let serbs have ilegal operators for more than 10 years ( Kosova's budget lost more than 20 milions of dollars each year because of this)
* The local serbs and serbian operators were warned about this so many times and they didn't do anything to voluntarily remove these towers and equipment so they could use somewere in Serbia,
* Kosova's serbs were offered free SIM cards so they could communicate with 5 Euros on each of this SIM.
If you see this above , you will se how generous we were about this issue.
Last but not leased, do you know that serbian operators uses frequency channels that often interferes and makes a lot of problems for legal operators

Can a serb explain to me how specifically Serbia built the infrastructure of telecommunications in Kosovo...not Montenegrians, Croats, Bosnians, Albanians, Slovenians BUT specifically it was the Serbs?

At best you could argue that such infrastructure was built by Yugoslavia..but NOT by serbs.

Then again all the minerals (coal, gold, etc) from Mitrovica was imported directly to Belgrade. Should Kosovars now claim to some buildings in Belgrade??

In withstranding, Yugoslavia has dissolved, and the Declaration of Independence declared Kosovo independent of Serbia (that includes the roads, air, bridges, and buildings too)..I find your arguments null.

One last reminder, we are also paying off part of your debt from the Paris Club (??) that you labeled "Kosovo's debt". I am more than confident if we look at the books, it will show that Serbia raped Kosovo of its resources with little if any money being put back.

The timing of this latest scheme from Pristina is also interesting for a number of reasons. The last time this was attempted was about 5 months ago around the end of April. I remember the lines being cut for about a week before they were suddenly restored again. What happened? Did the Serbs give extra kickback to Pristina? For a government that tries to stamp out "illegal" activities, it's intersting that once the transmitters were back up, they were not immediately taken down again. What explains the sudden need only now to destroy them after a 5 month hiatus? Why was it fine to leave them operational all this time?

Second is the timing of the upcoming Belgrade-Pristina talks. As I and a number of others said yesterday, the issue of telecommunications could have been one of those "light-weight" issues to discuss - Belgrade renewing its licence via EULEX or just paying an extra service fee. But Pristina decides to politicize this by open destruction of property. Why on the eve of talks? Why radicalize something that could have been settled via negotiation?

Then there's the possibility of the Patriarchal enthronement next week. Curious how on the same day Pristina "relented" on banning Serb officials from coming, there was the decision - after 5 months of it seeming ok - to dismantle the phone service. For what purpose? To kill Tadic's phone range? Or better yet, when speeches are made by Tadic and others at the Patriarchate about the current plight of Serbs Pristina can turn around and yell "political statement" and proclaim from now on all Belgrade officials are banned?

This really seems to have little to do with "illegal" operations in Kosovo. One really needs to wonder at both the timing and the method of Pristina's actions. Since we know from past experience phone service will be restored in a week or so, it seems little more than an attempt at inconveniencing the Serb community, particularly when a number of Serbian officials will be travelling to Kosovo.

Resolution 1244 is still valid in Kosovo, according to the UNSC - so in that case, Serbia does have a right to operate there, especially with a 381 Serbian prefix. It is the Pristina Albanians that are breaking the law, and destroying others' property. Gee, that's something new

This is a side-show at the expense of Serbs in Kosovo. No Albanian gives a penny on the statehood of Kosovo, even the "president" is constantly perpetrating the so called "Constitution of Kosovo" due to a verdict by its constitutional court. The leadership of Kosovo is frankly kleptocratic and hated to the bones by Albanians themselves. This is also a reason why no country is ready to recognize Kosovo. There is nothing else left to them but to blame Serbia. This must be not tolerated.

The spite of those supposedly in charge in Pristina is breathtaking. They would deny a telecoms service to a highly vulnerable population already under siege, just to show that they're in charge. This is as a previous poster said, the behaviour of thugs. Children and the elderly bullied again. What kind of men are they that would intimidate the weakest in society. I remember once reading about an ancient albanian code of honour. If they have any decency left, they'll try and retrieve that from ancient forebears.

Mr. David J. Jones

Then Pristina needs to act fast to provide them with the Kosovo Telephone services.

Hi Ian,

Fortunately Kosovo does not have its own telephone system. The land lines used today are those laid by Serbian Authorities and repaired after the war by the UN development. The International dialing code is still +381, as one would expect of a province of Serbia. The reason for this we all know - The self proclaimed independence is not recognised by the UN and thus they will always have to use +381.

Mobile telephony services are managed through a Monaco telecommunications company hence the area code is that of a Monaco number. Millions of Euro's per annum are paid by Western donations to use this management service so you as a tax payer fund this capability. The income received through the communications company covers operating costs only (Thaci's drug cartel needs funds and Haridin....needs defence council)

As Kosovo CLAIMS to be independent, they think they can simply invent new laws and demand new licences (to be payed for, of course),

It's no wonder "Kosova" is a black hole. Who would want to invest there when their equipment is at risk of being destroyed? UNMIK issued licenses and now the thugs in Pristina don't recognise them, so they do the only thing they know, destroy.

We all know this talk of "legitimate licenses" is just talk because the status of Kosovo is not resolved and the fake entity of "Kosova" is not legitimate. So in that case, we can expect more thug mentality and thug actions, which is exactly what we are seeing.

All of this action is sowing seeds of instability. It's a shame ethnic Albanians don't have politicians with cool heads. They are either extreme nationalists or terrorists dressed in suits. It's time for Tadic to wake up.

Thousands of Serbian residents of Kosovo are unable to have telephone service? I had no idea that kosovo operators didn't work in the areas of Kosovo inhabited by Serbians. My phone has always worked just fine everywhere in Kosovo. For about 5E (which includes several euros of starting credit), anyone who wants it (regardless of ethnicity), can have reliable, reasonably priced wireless service anywhere in Kosovo from any of the licensed operators...
I am not in favor of the destruction of equipment, however. I believe that it would have been better for Kosovo authorities to seek some sort of economic arrangement, rather than destroy expensive equipment. It is not like either Kosovo or Serbia is awash in money, so needless destruction of good equipment is certainly unacceptable.
As far as the impact this may have on future negotiations, I think this is of minimal consequence. Coincidently, many people on B92 keep talking about compromise, that each side will somehow give something up. I believe that because the current situation is bad for everyone; serbians in Kosovo have very difficult and sometimes dangerous circumstances, Serbia is being distracted from dealing with issues that really matter (like the economy in Serbia), and Kosovo is kept from advancing due to lack of membership in international organizations. It seems to me that whatever both sides "lose" in the process of coming up with a workable situation, it will be a win for both sides.

* Kosova's serbs were offered free SIM cards so they could communicate with 5 Euros on each of this SIM.

Illegal operation is not allowed in Kosova.

As Kosova is independent, Serbia must pay to be authorised to you the telephone network.

This is nothing new, this is something very normal to do so.

UK,

Telekom Srbja does not have a license, they do have a license from Republic of Serbia that says it can operate in Kosovo but not from ART (Kosovo authorities).

Although slightly late, things are getting in order. we have to lay the proper infrastructure for privatization of the PTK and forthcoming technical talks.

No more words...ONLY actions counts. Serbs to understand the Kosov government means BUSINESS. They have other operators to connect to international world...as Serbian telecommunications are things of the past...

Glenn

pre 13 godina

As Kosovo CLAIMS to be independent, they think they can simply invent new laws and demand new licences (to be payed for, of course),
and annul the existing and valid ones (issued/transferred by UNMIK)? Interesting. Every investor will like this safety of investment, I'm sure ;-)

Zoran

pre 13 godina

Mr. David J. Jones

pre 13 godina

I am more than confident if we look at the books, it will show that Serbia raped Kosovo of its resources with little if any money being put back.

pre 13 godina
