"Serbian textbook revised in Kosovo"Educating Serbian children anywhere on territory of Kosovo and Metohija shall be responsibility of Serbian Ministry of Education.
Curriculum Shall be as is in the rest of Serbia meeting and exceeding minimum European standards.Kosovo
Albanians educational system
is inferior to Serbian by all measures. What possibly can
Serbian children learn from
Kosovo Albanians educators?
Educating our young children should be guided spiritually by our reverend Serbian Orthodox Church and their active presence in the class rooms.Where the love for God and respect for mankind is always thought.

well, I´m afraid kids like "skifteri" will be very upset, but perhaps there are no Albanians mentioned in history books simply because they were not relevant in these lands.

sounds derogative to albanian ears, but the truth hurts sometimes.

given that today´s Albanians have no (known) connection to any illyrian tribe whatsoever in the balkans it stays their ( understandable ) wishful thinking.

of course, it gives them a warm feeling of " being someone" but even if they were the descendants of the illyrians, they wouldn´t have any legitimation of claiming KiM as theirs, since the first state that deserves to be called that way nowadays was the serbian one.

there were simply no Albanians in what is today southern Serbia.

and, not only ottoman population censuses are clearly showing the lack of a significant albanian population, moreover there are no signs of albanian presence whatsoever in southern Serbia, no artifacts, no documents, no ruins, ...nothing.

the only thing our dear k-albanian friends are not getting tired to present are those "theories" about the alleged "illyrian descent" of the Albanians, which are already proven to be outdated and utter nonsense, created by the german "Romantik"-era by writers who were interweaving phantasy with poetry - but that´s of course something our dear k-albanian friends are silently withholding when they start lecturing about their alleged illyrian descent.

nevertheless, reiterating the same old but quite useless illusions doesn´t make them come true at all, my friends.

I know, it hurts, but there is a pattern to it, my dear k-albanian friends, just like in the past where you were not present ...it is the same today.

just take a look into the world of sports...

you are simply not present. that doesn´t mean that you do not exist, of course, but it shows that you simply are not relevant to be mentioned in the records.

and so it is with the Albanians in former times, there was a smaller albanian population, but it had no cultural, political or historical relevance, and even the ottoman oppressors did not see you as relevant factor.

the bottom-line of all this is:
sooner or later you will have to come to terms with your own history, without claiming foreign history as yours, and you will simply have to accept that you were not that relevant as you would like it to read in history books.

last but not least, I called this puppet-entity a freak-creation, and B92 has censored that.
they should understand that a political entity without any legal or moral legitimacy simply is a freak-creation, what is in no way derogative, but a quite precise description of that anomaly on southern serbian territory.

I hope they take a look into a n english dictionary before they start to censor again next time.

And this is the paradox that is Kosovo. It seems so wierd to talk about Kosovo as its own entity. You can't really say for example, 'Kosovo has said...', it has to be 'the Kosovar Albanians have said...', because there isn't a Kosovo without Serbia. Nobody in the world knows it as anything other than the Serbian name, and if you talk about Kosovo, you have to talk about the native people as the Serbs.

I don't know how real the Albanian connection with the Illyrians is, but things would be a lot less challenging if it was the Republic of Dardania (as Albanian nationalists would want) and they taught the history of Dardania and that Kosovo/a is a foreign name imposed on them by the Slavs, who invaded in the 7th century. As long as it is Kosovo though, the Serbs are the natives and the Albanians are the settlers, no matter who was there first.

I'm sure the Kosovarian school textbooks will contain "democratic and free" stories about "illyrians", the "Kosovarian Alps", "polar bears", and of course all the Kosovarian monestaries.

A bad thing that they already try to indoctrinate children at school.

Smell the desperation from the Albanian authorities. Children are not that stupid. Now that this poem is forbidden in the text books, it will be on the lips from memory of every Serb in Kosovo.

Correct. And this how nationalism is created, by trying to bring down and opress and certain group/national and/or identity.

The world keeps complaining about Serbs being nationalistic but given by the same token, they have no one to blame but themselves.

A poem for kids living with or in the middle of albanians every day that says "albanian stabbed you in the eye"?. Is this true or just an invention? Why does the ministry of education of serbia want to traumatize serb kids in kosovo? call it discrimination, call it whatever you want, i agree with this decision. If I were a parent, I would not want my kids to read poems with their neighbors stabbing them in the eye. So stupid.

As a teacher in the States it's normal to do curriculum design or revision, but seriously the excuse "on the basis of democracy and freedom" made me laugh. While it made me laugh, it is very sad that they are trying to really enforce this "new" curriculum. You can try and try but in the end the truth will win. Serbia!!!

Say whatever you want about us Albanians, the truth is that the history books says that the south slavs started to arrive in the blakans during the 6th centry AD.

There are no history documents of Albanian migration into the Ballkans at any time, now ask yourself why?

I'll tell you, because we are the decendants of the Illyrians, our name Albania comes from the Albani (latin name)this comes form one of the tribes of Illyria, we dont call ourselvs Albanian, we call ourselvs Shqiptar, now the latin name for that is "Scirtari" because they cannot pronaunce the letter Q (Albanian) which is uniqe only in the Albanian language no other language in the world pronuonces the letter Q as it is in the Albanian alphabet.

The reason why i stress latin is because Illyria was fully conquered by the Romans, which is why we use the latin alphabet.

Look at all this maps and see how much land which is our birthright has been occupied for so long, starting with the Romans to present day,

All of the arguments above pre date the arrival of the south slavs so save the Kosovo is serbia for yourselvs because we both know that Dardania is finally free of foreign rule.

(Hiduke's clamis on Kastrioti. )

Kastrioti's father was Albanian and he's mother was a Serb, he fought the invading Ottomans to free his homeland in the name of Arberia, Kastrioti's castle is in Kruja Albania.

If the Serbs and Greeks had acted like Kastrioti did then surely the Byzntine Empire would have been preserved and all of the future conflict of the Ballkans would have been avoided, By defeating the Ottomans all of Ballkans would still be Orthodox united in a peaceful co-existance in one country as the succesors of the Byzantine Empire.

Unfourtenately Kastrioti died of natural causes had no worthy successor and Albania fell to the Ottomans along with all of Bllakans.

May i ask the Serbs if they know why they have picked the name "Kosovo (Blackbird " particularly for the region?

@highduke,

Wrong Wrong Wrong! What our authorities are doing in Prishtina is more than wrong!

History cannot be erased! But, you claim that Albanians stole Skanderbeg - I am sorry but to me this also seems like you were also educated with a history textbook centralised and censured by Serbia to fit its agenda.

But,

Mike

Considering the Kosovo authorities have had problems issuing textbooks that have been found to range from the highly interpretive to the factually inaccurate, I'm not all that surprised by this latest round of historical revisionism.

http://www.balkaninsight.com/en/main/features/28254/

But considering that most K-Serbs will be using books issued by the Serbian Ministry of Education - and this will probably be one of the things compromised out at the upcoming talks between Belgrade and Pristina - I think most of these books will remain unused in warehouses. Maybe at some later point scholars can use one of these books in a study of how the Albanian authorities are attempting to rewrite history.
