Tadic & C. are still in the corner and they are becoming more and more ridicolous in trying to exit...
(luigi, 7 September 2010 10:43)

That would be why the UK, De, US and EU are begging Serbia to drop the resolution then?

What are you lot afraid of it is not such a big deal? No that your vote counts or anything?

For such an irrelevant country, its funny how much the increasing numbers of pro-albanian posters on b92 become so much more animated about what Serbia does. You tell us you "don't care what serbia does" because you can hide behind the skirts of world powers, you certainly don't care about freedom of choice for others when it is not in your favor either. For a bunch of people who don't care, you all spend a remarkable amount of time spamming B92 with bitterness and bile (not that you are going to convince anyone with such manners, let alone any serbs). But please carry on as you provide a good insight to non-balkanites about your 'values'.

For what its worth, the Serbian-language part of B92 mentions a number of "secret meetings" taking place between envoys of Belgrade and Pristina already.

Apparently, there is talk of Belgrade offering to remove all obstacles to Kosovo's statehood in exchange for virtual RS-status of northern Kosovo, the major Serb enclaves to the south, and the major SPC sites. This is backed up apparently by the International Crisis Group.

If you can read it, take it for what it is....

"I hope Mrs. Ashton will be wise and strong when she talks to Tadic, and makes it crystal clear that after ICJ decision Serbia has no ammunition left to continue to stir political mayhem within EU. More concessions you make to Serbia, longer will the political paradox will be prolonged in Belgrade.

I don't know anything about Mrs. Ashton. So far if I am correct she didn't do anything important. Will it change today?

What will Germany, Britain, the US and others be willing to compromise with Serbia over Kosovo if Serbia takes status off the table?
(Mike, 7 September 2010 16:08)

Well Mike, status is off the table, there's no if. Especially after the ICJ ruling.

What about to compromise? Kosovo is only a card in the hands of Tadic, with less and less value after the ICJ ruling, but it still retains a bonus value. Tadic should act rapidly to exchange it in due time, or he will be left with a useless card in his hands at the end of the game

As much as I would like a compromise, I think the only changes will be in wording in the resolution that makes it somewhat more vague for states to support through multiple forms of interpretation.

I think by now everyone has learned Serb tactics when dealing this situations of this kind. Tadic is going to repeat that he needs something to be left into the resolution just so he can justify his government in the eyes of Serb opposition. From the other hand once something is left that could imply that Serbia is still capable to continue its fight, Tadic is going to capitalize on Jeremic, and try to do as much damage as it can. I hope Mrs. Ashton will be wise and strong when she talks to Tadic, and makes it crystal clear that after ICJ decision Serbia has no ammunition left to continue to stir political mayhem within EU. What is the purpose of the resolution, when after the changes will get the approval of USA,EU and Albania?
If USA,EU and Albania will vote pro serbian resolution,it means that the resolution is changed 180grade from the first one.

"Serbia wants to resolve the Kosovo issue in coordination with its European partners.."

Why? He knows what is the position of EU members, so why want to coordinate Kosovo issue with countries that already recognized it as independent? What good can come out of it? That cooperation can only introduce subtle wording into resolution that EU can use in UN to support its stance.
