I have to disagree with your opinion that Albanians have zero music because some Albanian folk dancing songs especially the songs involving drums are appealing to me.

Serbs love the Roma, we call them Gypsies, so out of favor with the West. Cigani are a historic part of the Balkans history, we all love their music, but hate their lifestyle. The same is true with the way we see Albanians, although they have zero music.

Recently Nic Sarkozy justified his "ethnic cleansing" of the Roma by stating that the Roma camps are places of thievery, human trafficking and human exploitation. Of course anyone familiar with the Roma will know that this is a stereotype, and such draconian actions being taken against the Roma cannot be based on stereotypes.

If western europe were to base its actions on pre concieved notions and stereotypes than there would be not a single weapon in the entire territory of modern day germany. If there is some truth to the notion that gypsies steal - than what of the time tested and repeatedly proven fact that the german people have a tendency to burn europe to the ground ever few decades or so.

I have always liked the Roma people and have known quite a few while living in serbia. They are colorful, interesting, unpredictable and always misunderstood. In my home village-the Roma are known for thier music and songs.

When the little man from Austria went to germany and became its leader-the Roma were on his hit list-and the Roma died next to serbs in german/Croat death camps.

When the little man from Hungary went to france and became its leader.......well you know whats happening right in front of the nose of those enlightened and humanitarian western europeans.

This is the true and never changing nature of the western european.

Ian, are you Serbian? You talk like you are one. From your previous posts, I thought you were Albanian. Anyway, not all Serbs dislike the Roma, just like not all people dislike the Albanians. You should know that.

Serbians celebrate their hate of roma every year at Guca! (/sarcasm). Quite the opposite to the 'civilized' west. Kettle, pot, black.

Although Sarkozy's motives for expelling the Roma may have been called into question the fact is he's the president of France and has been elected by the French Electorate.
It's all well and idealistic for all those groups and organisations that have condemned the Roma expulsions
but not if you're a French citizen who's lived in France
all his life, paid his taxes and woken up to find a third world encampent in the bottom of his garden which expends on a daily basis. This is not an incursion of would be immigrants striving to better their lives but an incursion of an entirely different order.

Iam also of the opinion that the French expalsion of the Roma is not an isolated incident but part of a widwe campaign against undesirable immigrants in Europe.

Firstly we had Sarcozy's threats to strip foreign born
French citisens of their nationality and last week we had Thilo Sarazin Of the Bundensbank and also a leading member of the Social Democrats in Germany saying that Germany was digging its own grave with its Muslim Immigrants.

Sarrazin said"I don't want my grandchildren to be largely Muslim and spaek Turkish or Arabic or our women wearing headscarves or the daily rhythm set by the call of the muezzin".

Personally i couldn't agree more with those comments which of course fall on deaf ears of the EU establishment and the bassle bankers who are sprinting ahead with their plans for one world goverment.

Ian-this is not the govt or any policy. It is few ngo and people who have an interest in Roma affairs expressing their views. You really will attempt to turn anything the Serbs do into something negative. Pathetic. And for your info, Franco-Serbian relations have a long and friendly history, and will continue to do so in the future.

This is rich considering many Serbs take a dislike to Roma people. It is just a way of having a go at France; they don't particular care about the Roma, it is just an excuse to attack France.
