Yet you have the hypocrisy to suggest that after years of struggling for your freedom, you now have the right to lead 200,000 serbs (people you claim to want nothing to do with) in Northern Mitrovica?

One day, you will have to examine what it is that you can bring to the table and sit down to talk.

-- A few things here.

1. People lives in N. Mitro ore totally dependable on how Belgrade acts. If Belgrade trumpets daily that it will never ever going to recognize an independent Kosova then people in N. Mitro will remain under the current situation for as long as this boneheaded politics in Belgrade will continue. Belgrade tries every way possible to make our lives harder then we won't lift a finger either and simply agree with the EU and the US that N. Mitro stays as it is. We can't reward Serbia or N. Mitro while they sabotage us. We can't support N. Mitro breaking away while Serbia sabotages us on a daily basis.

2. That day will never come as long as Serbia keeps repeating that will never ever recognize Kosova and for as long such attitude is stamped in its constitution. Until then we are in a comfortable position. All we need to do is not lift a finger and let Serbia's self destructing policies continue its flow.

The decision of Belgrade immediately after the the International Court of Justice (ICJ) ruling on Kosovo to submit a resolution to the UN General Assembly calling for a solution for Kosovo that is acceptable for all sides did not meet with approval in Berlin.

They key phrase here is "calling for a solution for Kosovo that is acceptable for all sides did not meet with approval in Berlin" This clearly demonstrates the key fundemental problem here. They simply want a resolution that is acceptable to them. Acceptance by Serbia seems to be of little importance to them. Hold firm Serbia, stick to your principles and dont allow yourselves to be bullied into something you are not completely happy with. I for one, as a UK citizen, applaud your actions to date on this issue and hope that your patience and pragmatism will be justly rewarded. If they are not, a very dangerous precedent will have been set I think.

Nick,

Conversely the other big shows in town are the ones put on by the US and UK diplomats who are sent to Beograd on what seems a regular basis, firstly to chastise Serbia in the press, and then water down their commentary after the event.

This happened again with Germany, who said economic co-operation with Serbia was not related to EU talks. So lets think here Nick, if the EU will still deal with Serbia in terms of aid, in terms of general day to day co-operation and in terms of the economy (because it suits them), what is left in actually joining the EU? Sounds like geo-politics, naming rights and semantics to me - and that suits Serbs I know just fine.

Like it or not, eventually you too will have to get used to the idea that Serbia has too many allies for you to ignore. At the moment your "territory" is metaphorically hiding under the skirt of the US and UK, as if they are a child who has just ran after throwing stones at houses in the neighbouring village.

This attitude is represented by many of your posters as well, who read everything printed on B92 and look for every angle you can to denigrate a sovereign country and it's people. When asked about how you could make things work through dialogue, all of your answers are the same - most of you wouldn't try to assimmilate, and never did. Daily Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung wrote after the visit of German Minister Guido Westerwelle to Belgrade that Serbian politicians are stressing in internal talks that then need a final battle in the UN in order for to be able to tell the domestic public that they tried everything in their fight for Kosovo.

I have known this for very long time. Everything Serb politician do and say, is only for domestic consumption.

Rigid stance brought Serbia to this position for 20 years now. I am as well content with this stance, keep it up, keep trying to break a brick wall with your forehead.
The damage assesment will be pretty obvious.
Serbian politicians are making the lives of serbian people a miserable one, with their non-sense stances.

Germany content with Serbia. That's funny too...the single greatest mass murdering nation that gave the word genocide true meaning as the benchmark standard of mass murder giving it's opionion about Serbia.
