roberto you must be confused this topic is actually about Kosovo.

As for Mladic I know this must be hard for you to understand but I am an individual and don't have some special link to the Serbian government on account of my nationality.

I see you are a dreamer. Serbs have no right what so ever in albanian controled parts of Kosovo. You are living in a fairy tale. Albanians are yet to show good intentions. Serbs don't trust the albanains that's why we are resisting and whant to be independent from you. Living seperated is the best thing for Serbs and Serbia. With the high birth rate amongst albanian women pretty soon the entire balkans will be flooded by poor, agressive and independentseeking albanians. We have made misstakes in the past, hopefully we won't repeat them.

OMG, i didn't realize that i was desperate or nervous. but please, do me a favor bgannon, my , um, former otpor colleague (!), give us the moderate/reasonable/clever date for the hand-over of mass murderer mladic (and his fellow executioners) to the hague, and pls give us the moderate/clever/reasonable date when the newest mass grave (fr 99) will be exhumed.

Yes, President Tadić, plan A, problem solution by peaceful diplomatic negotiations, is the best solution.

However, what shall happen, if plan A fails, and if Priština tries to gain control over the north of Kosovo by using force ? Or if incidents like those which occured in 2004 will happen again ?

If one of these events occurs, will you, Mr. President, send your troops to protect the Serbs, Roma, etc. ?

And if you are not sending your troops, will your government support us in protecting the Serbs, Roma, etc., or will it at least tolerate the necessities, or will your government hamper us ?

About 15 years ago a Serbian president betrayed Serbs:
Slobodan Milošević betrayed the Krajina Serbs, he didn´t help them although he knew that the Croats had concrete plans to conquer the Krajina.

Shall this betrayal happen again ?

bganon

pre 13 godina

EA so it is true that when you offer your hand they try to take your arm? You are going to have to understand the concept of negotiation and giving up certain objectives if we are to have peace, I thought you might have realised that.

The Milosevic comparison is laughable, hysterical even. Milosevic didn't dare try open negotiations with Pristina because he was such a short sighted political coward. People like Roberto are getting so desperately nervous because they can see the Serbian strategy is both reasonable and clever.

The overriding message from the Serbian people is that there can be no negotiation if Serbia is the only party willing to moderate.

I believe that the pressure will increase on the Kosovo Albanian side to come up with a moderated stance. Come on, its about time you guys offered something new.

As for some Serbs who are worried about Tadic's stance, I am not at all worried. To the contrary, he is persuing the correct strategy. He won't dare go too far but on the other hand he has as much political authority as any Serbian leader in recently history. In other words he is the only one who can deliver on the Serbian side. The west can reject him and try with Nikolic or Kostunica. Good luck with that.

This is a very good news, things would be quite different for Albanians in the region if Serbia recognizes Kosovo. This would mean the end of the pseudo-alliance with Russia, and there will be no more need to support Albanians so that they can balance somehow the power of a pro-russian country. Great Tadic, you are really a good Albanian

Thank you. Just more moderation and compromise coming from the blgd regime (not).

As long as Serbia tries to force the people of Kosova (not to mention Bosnia) into "frozen conflict" and "Black Hole" so they, too, shall be stuck. that's not a biblical prophecy, that's just the reality.

So, Tadic, continue to push the milosevic agenda and you will gain yr just desserts.

ps May 10th: announcement of "alleged" mass grave in south of serbia, probably containing the remains of at least 250 albanians from Kosova. Based on now-protected(by Eulex) witness testimony, surely from a Serb. Serbia, it is announced, is finally ready to confront its deep dark past, bla bla bla (even though still harboring mladic and god knows how many other war criminals.) Action, until now, over 3 months later: one "inconclusive" soil sample from the nearby area...

and the beat goes on.

I think nobody in this current serbian regime would be so stupid. they would simply risk their personal security.

no, my dear k-albanian friends, that´s more of a rather simple example of spreading out anti-serb propaganda, in order to irritate the serbian public.

EA - How does it sound? Like a recipe for Kosovo's continued existence in limbo.

How about showing some realism? Even the ICG, the biggest cheerleader for an independent Kosovo, has now had to accept reality and is calling for new talks with an open agenda. If they are suggesting this, you can bet that the US and the key supporters of independence have finally understood that Kosovo is going nowhere and will not be accepted as a real state by the majority of the international community until Serbia agrees otherwise.

EA

pre 13 godina

Well...

“the ex-territoriality of the Orthodox monasteries in Kosovo, a special status for Serbs south of the Ibar River and a recognition of the status quo in northern Kosovo.”

all the above would be an indecent proposal.

I think that the way forward would be 1-Serbian recognises Kosovo independence 2-Mutual (friendship) agreements between the two countries ie free movements of goods, people, fight against terrorism. 3-Respect of human rights of ethnic minorites in respective countries to EU standards ie same rights for Albanians living in Presevo, Bujanovc and Medvegja to Serbs living in northern Kosovo 4-Both Kosovo and Serbia in EU.

How does that sound?

Why would Tadic legitimize the temp. inst. in Pristina when he just delegitimized the ICJ by its failure to get new recognitions, plus he scared the US into withdrawing its Res for fear of being voted down by the anti-UDI UN and scared the EU into a joint Resolution that will leave KiM in limbo status until KFOR leaves and the S.
