Thanks to new free trade we could forget about major innovation. Why? Because now patents are protected. In other words if I make a tube that is 20 cm long with a 10 cm diameter and a 3 cm thickness, and get it patented, then I can go and sue anyone else who creates such a common object. In other words, what good is science day when foreigners have imposed limits on us, limits that they themselves did not have back when they developed??
