"Priština's "north money" unwelcome.."...this is a typical "Balkan" style attitude...or "inat" for that matter. The economic aid is one of the means to show that the Kosovo government cares for all of Kosovo people be them Albanians or Serbs. Why is Bogdanovic so concerned that this aid will "Buy" Serbs in Mitrovica?! Serbian population in Mitrovica is already de-jure part of Kosovo. The issue now is to make this reality de facto.

There are ways to show the Serbs that they care by solving so many outstanding cases of who has been killing Serbs since 1999.
How about at least who is responsible for destruction of Serbian cemeteries? Then how about who is preventing Serbs from coming back by attacking them and their property.
There are so many ways to show the Serbs that Albanians care about them and want them but not one has been adopted yet. Now we have this money being invested in north. Why? Cheap political points being scored because it will look good in the papers. All those crimes against Serbs don't make headlines around the world but this cheap bribe will. That's why Serbs don't want anything to do with it.
Nice try to portray it as something good though.

It is not necessary for the Serbs to accept the money. The official setting aside the money for the Serb communities is the political gain, just like the millions that Serbia has budgeted for the Kosovo Serbs, none of it is actually spent on the people of Kosovo but it looks good in the press.

I am sure it will make its way in the next UN report along with the rejection of such aid. And I wonder who will look better, the ones offering assistance and trying to form a bridge or the ones that say "we want nothing to do with you or your money"?

the fear and mistrust of Serbs is greater than material and financial gain..
That's your ultimate argument?
You do know probably why too!
But fear and mistrust is higher in the albanian sideif they had to be under serbian control. So,le moindre mal is that it is less dangerous to have serbs in a free kosova than albanians in a province of serbia. When will you understand this?

Well, they have to do something to earn their money from Belgrade.

I wonder why he didn't say anything about Prishtina's "south money." ?

Trudsaam, you meant "bribe", right?

They protested against the cuts to their doubled salaries by the Belgrade gov't.

Regardless, the salaries are not a problem - the problem is Serb government's direct involvement in changing of Northern Mitrovica's ethnic make-up. Serbia is providing millions for purchases of Albanian owned real estate for Serbs. At least this time, they are paying, not confiscating (like they did from 1913 until 1999).

Minister for Kosovo Goran Bogdanović says the "Priština government's money allocated for the Serb north is not welcome."

His comment is irrelavant. Soon he will need a visa to cross the border into Kosovo if he travels with a Serbian passport unless an agreement will be reached between Serbia and Kosovo as two independent countries to abolish the visa regime.

You are incorrect, and by reading most of your postes on this site, you are also terribly mis-informed.

Secondly; Your "opinion" is always welcome, but if your going to post a comment on the article make it relevent to the story.

Did Messrs Bogdanović and Nedeljković (who have fat salaries) ask the people of Northern Mitrovica about this? I am sure that they would have gotten a different response!

Desperate Pristina Albanians trying anything to get the Kosovo Serbs on their side - forget it! All the Albanian thugs in Pristina know is bribery - that is how they run their criminal empires. Keep your lousy $$$'s Thaci, it's not your money anyway, but money placed in your tin cup by the US/EU. That is dirty blood money, which Serbs paid for with their lives in some cases. Stay out of N. Mitrovica, Albanians are not welcomed there.
