Roma (Gypsy) children who beg in Belgrade do not dare to go home unless they bring RSD 1,000 every day - otherwise they are subjected to beatings.

If my 71 year old grandmother in Serbia can work on the fields by herself what stops these people? Beating children if they dont bring home enough money...thats about as much news as the sun coming up in the morning.

It is amazing how the concept of xenophobia against one group is getting advanced all over Europe. I am not really a good advocate for Roma because I do not support the way they construct their social existence, nevertheless portraying them as the core of or criminal problems is dangerous for everyone. Remember a guy from Austria started something similar, and in no time he wanted only the “superior race” to exist.
Strange, I am afraid, how history repeats itself!!!

Hey, let's pour millions of euros we dont have onto supporting the Roma. I mean, if they're doing this to their own kids, they need our money, so we must create a culture of pitty around them, make them our charity cases, create jobs & pay the CEOs of these charities BIG $ to pretend altruism, while the Roma become a slightly less nuisance in petty crime because they can just take Serbs' taxes monthly. Let's perpetually blame discrimination when any Roma commits a crime. And its ROMA not gypsy
