It is quite incredible that many that visit this site have absolutely no respect whatsoever for the fact that Serbia is commemorating an historical event that is part of a huge tragedy. I do not care that many did not like my posting, but then at least have the courage to counter-argue the historical facts that I wrote down and reveal your identity so at least I can understand your prospects. Fortunately it will not stop me from posting comments and from standing up for my country and be proud of it. Thank you.

Gladko...."Such an assertion is dangerous for your people because it perpetuates not only a false information but a distorsion of history."

I love it...another non Serb dictating to Serbs what is in their best interests along with a veiled threat. Unfortuntely, we Serbs don't cow down to threats that well, just ask your forefathers from either the Austo Empire, Ottomans or from the Third Reich.

Serbia will decide what's best for Serbs..thank you very much.

«These same enemies are still trying to accomplish what their great grandfathers' and grandfathers' generations attempted but fortunately failed to accomplish.»

Milan, I am not a Serb, and your comment needs to be well explained. Such an assertion is dangerous for your people because it perpetuates not only a false information but a distorsion of history.

This current comic opera army still wearing their Titoist blue uniforms celebrates an event when the Serbs had self respect and were prepared to fight courageously to defend their lands with their western allies.
This army has neither the leadership, the moral authority nor the ability to defend anything.Look at their lamentable history.Would they defend the Serbs in the North if attacked of course not. They are celebrating a time when later the German general Mackenson paid tribute to the Serbs for their fighting qualities.
This lot? Doubt it.

"I might be mistaken, but I was under the impression that in WWI Serbia lost miserably to Austro-Hungary, and Belgrade was razed to the ground....or do you celebrate winning the battle but not the war?
(Stepanovic, 22 August 2010 15:07)"

Stepanovic,

I am not sure what country you are from. If you had actually read the article carefully you would not have asked the question at the end of your comment. I am sure that you are in no way related to General Stepa Stepanović. Maybe it is good to read the following link that gives a good summary of Serbia during WWI.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serbian_Campaign_%28World_War_I%29

It is clear that Serbia did not ask for WWI. Austria-Hungary wanted war at all costs. WWI and WWI were huge tragedies for Serbia with many innocent lives lost. We should never forget those brave Serbs who gave their lives for our freedom and we should not forget the enemies that wanted to eradicate Serbia and the Serbs from this world. These same enemies are still trying to accomplish what their great grandfathers' and grandfathers' generations attempted but fortunately failed to accomplish. I am sure that the brave ones will turn inside their graves if they would know that the current puppet government wants to join the EU and NATO. It will be a shame that will stain us for many generations and that will be the end of our spiritual freedom.
