If it's "resolved" for Kosovo, why do they try to "lobby" for new recognitions? Why do they care for recognitions, UN-membership and other signs of a proper statehood, if the status is considered "resolved"?
(Top, 23 August 2010 11:44)

Status is solved; UN membership and membership in a few other places is not. For those we need to lobby. We can stop lobbying right now and Serbia can't do anything about retaking Kosova. In fact even if it was only the US supporting us Serbia couldn't do anything about it. Its that simple.

What does UN membership has to do with statehood. Following your logic, Serbia wants to be a UN member in order to have the statehood recognized ?!!!

UN membership, like membership in any other international organization, is an opportunity to increase your influence in the international community or benefit other things (like loans from WB, IMF, etc.).

Indonesia withdrew from UN for a year in 1965. Does that mean that Indonesia ceased to be a state ?!!! No, it just lost an opportunity to have it's voice heard, and a year later decided to return.

So, membership in international organizations is important, but it's not a statehood issue.

he is absolutely right.

but I would suggest to exclude the U.S. from future negotiations, since they will lose importance anyway.
and: they have no legitimate right to attend these negotiations, in the end they are Americans, not Europeans.

"Once again you are dead wrong Oli. I wish Serbia will hold that referendum right now and you will so that 90% of Serbs from Serbia will vote for EU. Majority of them have never been to Kosova, and they could not care less."
(Kosova-USA, 21 August 2010 18:12)

Probably even 90% of the Kosovo Albanians would prefer an immediate EU-membership over an "indipindint Kosova"

Will not be resolved for whom ? For Serbia... !

Who cares... for Kosovo it's resolved. If Serbia wants to define it as "not resolved", that's Serbia's problem.

For an analogy, consider that tomorrow the Italian government decides that the Vatican City status is not resolved and Vatican is part of Italy. Vatican will say: who cares, that's Italy's problem for having an idiotic government.

This collection of fools who run Serbia have neither the self respect nor the courage to sort out any problems.
These shysters are merely hanging on involved in wishful thinking, disinformation and dishonesty.
Serbia has no self respect nor does it possess any leadership.A rudderless geopolitical entity which is fragmenting.
The tragedy is that the Serbs have allowed themselves to be run by this motley group of neo Communists who are a disgrace to their forefathers who had self respect once, knew when to fight and who had principles and actually believed in freedom and truth.Something which can't be said about the present and previous regime.

You must have meant a stable Serbia. I like the self-aggrandizing statements, where the implication is that Serbia IS the Balkans, and that if it isn't stable, no one else can be stable. It's like that little spoiled child who yells and screams at his parents that if he doesn't get his way, none of his siblings can have a normal life either. Unfortunately for Serbia, and fortunately for everyone else, the Western world can see right through these hidden threats of blackmail, and safely ignore them for what they are...a mentality which stems from the 1990's, a time where Serbia caused mayhem for everyone around it. However, now surrounded by NATO members, there is no chance of a repeat of that.
