For this reason sadly I have to admit that I even welcome natural catastrophes in Russia like very bad harvests this year, what can influence and reduce this hated bullying of Putin's Russia.
(Joe, 20 August 2010 15:44)

I am surprised - thanks for admitting it - now probably time to re-read what you wrote and re-think, what you are thinking. I am not a fanboy of Putin either but you hate a virtual enemy you or your circumstances created inside of you. I am on the "Serbian" side of their conflict with Albanians but never wanted anything sort of natural catastrophe for Albanians to happen, that is simply ill.

"How can I blame Moscow. Moscow is completely innocent. One is completely innocent when it helps Serbia. If it doesn't help Serbia then they're evil and they're out to destroy the world.

Moscow is seen as being right from the Serbs despite the fact that Serbia and Georgia similarly claim that their international integrity is violated by a superpower. Twisted. Hence when Russia invades Serbs see that as following international law and they whole-heartedly support such invasion.

Then you will have no choice but to blame your favorite Yankees again. They started everything, including setting the precedent for Georgia, with their invasion of Kosovo!

As for being "evil and they're out to destroy the world", actually your words would describ the US perfectly in my opinion.

500 billions used to be 2-3 years ago when the oil price was so much higher. That amount came down pretty well.
But regardless of the current amount isn't it pathetic that despite low debts, high reserves and all those natural resources the living standard is so low? Isn't it the fault of the current tzar that the population is not living much, much better? Based on all the facts you listed shouldn't Russians enjoy a living standard similar to Germany, the BE-NE-LUX states or France? Do you have a valid explanation?

You cannot possibly compare Russia with Germany or France now but certainly in the years to come.Life is certainly improving considering that per capita GPP under Yeltsin was only $2637 whereas in 2009 reached

Yes - the infrastructure is one of the cause. You should compare most of Russia with Northern Canada or Finland because of geographic situation, not with densely populated Germany, Benelux, France.

Unlike Canada where most of the population lives within 50 miles from U.S. border in Russia most of the population lives in areas not easy to reach unless you have a real SUV (not the fancy ones sold for "soccer moms" in the States).

That geographic fact affects the quality of life, jobs, salaries and nearly everything.

The low-quality infrastructure is probably the worst problem Soviet Russia inherited from Russian Empire in 1917 and I don't think the communists excelled to address it properly. Political slogans are not enough, you need serious specialists.

Better late than never: now very serious money is being put into nanotechnology and cyber-everything (the new infrastructure of 21st century). Still, the old-fassioned roads + rails need a lot of improvement. In ideal case the situation regarding it should be no worse than in Finland - but after of many decades of mismanagement it's very far from that.

Where do you get that? Some possible shrinkage and never returning to previous superpower status but not total collapse. Total collapse predicted by you for the US exists only in your virtual world.

Maybe you should devote 100% of your time writing "high-level" business e-mails instead of these comments that say so much about you. According to your logic the US also deserved the recent oil spill in The Gulf of Mexico and in the future California will deserve its big devastating earthquake for all the US bullying around the world. They also deserve the hurricanes, forest fires, droughts, flooding, the huge amounts of drugs that are brought into the US (because there is a demand), blizzards. I hope when you read this that you finally realize how silly your comments were. If you substitute "Russia" for "America" it will be the same, won't be?

Let's see how it reads:

"but hated the American bullying of small neighboring countries. Whenever USA feels economically stronger the bulying of those small countries automatically increases."

Any opinion on that, true or not? Looking through the history you can substitute it with:

- British Empire
- Hapsburgs
- Ottomans
- Roman Empire
- China (most of it's history).

This is a "property" of any major power. If it's not happening with one - you know what will happen? Of course, an other major power will do the same increasingly as it's competition weaken. The moment of revelation (for me) was that when Soviet Union fell apart the first what USA did was to try to spread it's influence as quick as possible.

You know who Turkmenbashi was, right? His reign was even more bizarre than of Kim Jong Il - but USA did not critic him nearly as much as, say, Lukashenko of Belarus. Because he was judged as a potential "friend" (also see NABUCCO).

History shows that it was Saakshvili who started the war, killed and maimed Russian peacekeepers and bombarded a city with rocket artillery while Putin was at the Olympic opening ceremony in China. We all know what was the aftermath of this war.

You cannot possibly compare Russia with Germany or France now but certainly in the years to come.Life is certainly improving considering that per capita GPP under Yeltsin was only $2637 whereas in 2009 reached
$15200.

As for your forgetfulness, I guess you will be tempted to blame Moscow too!
(lowe, 21 August 2010 13:12)

How can I blame Moscow.

"Why not blame Russia for breaking international law. I forgot this is a Serb site and that means international law is only broken when things go horribly wrong for Serbia.
(johny, 21 August 2010 06:25) "

You are right. I shouldn't be blaming the Georgians at all. I should blame the Yankees for instigating them to confront Russia and then abandoning them like a hot potatoes.

As for your forgetfulness, I guess you will be tempted to blame Moscow too!

Then you will have no choice but to blame your favorite Yankees again. They started everything, including setting the precedent for Georgia, with their invasion of Kosovo!

As for being "evil and they're out to destroy the world", actually your words would describ the US perfectly in my opinion.

"If you go back to his older postings he was predicting the collapse of Russia and the dissintegration of the country."
Leonidas

Where do you get that? Some possible shrinkage and never returning to previous superpower status but not total collapse. Total collapse predicted by you for the US exists only in your virtual world.

"Here we are in 2010 Russia is one of the least indebted countries in the world(6.7% of GDP), $ 500 billion in reserves and one of the largest US creditors($130 billion). Not to mention the value of the known energy reserves estimated at $ trillions. "

It looks like the pro-Joe lobby has been mobilized and activated. It is quite pathetic that the majority of visitors of the Serbian site are Serb-haters. Maybe one day they will claim this site to be Albanian and commit another theft of something that is not theirs.

(Joe, 20 August 2010 15:44)
