As usual, the B92 reporting here is sketchy at best. In Canada, there is a bonus paid for working in the Arctic region. Similar bonuses are paid for isolation and danger-pay in much of the world. When people are being asked to stay in Kosovo despite the government's failure to send troops and police to protect them as provided for in UNSC 1244, it seems natural to pay a bonus to preserve their presence in Kosovo. The court should not be striking down such pay but should be advising how the pay can be delivered in conformity with the constitution.

The decision of Serbian Constitutional Court on cutting bonuses for Kosovo serbs who receive salaries from Serbia is proof or at least an attempt to uphold the Constitution as the highest judicial act of one country.
If everybody is equal to the law and Constitution then why Kosovo serbs do not have white Schengen like Serbs in Serbia? Did Government of Serbia violate the consitution by fufilling this EC condition?
These are the questions that must be dealt by Constutional Court of Serbia.

Serbs living and working in Kosovo deserve more pay that the ones living and working in Belgrade or Nis.
They deserve danger money for starters. If you are going to pay them the same salaries then what's to stop them from leaving Kosovo? Why would they work there at all? Taking money away is the worst thing. We need our own teachers, doctors and the like. Our children there deserve the same quality of medical treatment and education as Serbia children anywhere.
There has to be a way to pay more either through danger money or just up their salaries to compensate.

I suppose Serbian MUP has 45000 K-Serbs in their payroll.

Well you regularly post stupid and anti-serb comments on b92 for free. What great value for money money you are! Who needs China's 50 cent army when we can have the mighty No Cent Albanian Cyber Army instead?

It seems that Kosovo as a whole (Serbs + Albanians) has problems with Serbia's constitution. It appears like it is not only the Albanians there who are doing unconstitutional things. For one reason or another Kosovo as a whole breeds illegality for Serbia. It must be the land or something in the air.

Let's be a bit cynical, or some would say realist. Let's try to look at this from a Kosovo Serb point of view. Those who profit from a situation are usually those who fight to preserve that situation. In this sense I would expect Kosovo Serbs to fight to maintain the unconstitutional double salaries. Fight how? Many means exist, from the vote to the propaganda etc etc.

By the way, any news about the investigations on the bomb that killed that doctor in N. Mitrovica, about those who shot that guy in the legs, and about the yellow house report from Dick Marty?

Just think about it, when a teacher in middle of Belgrade working full time receives, let say 250 euro per month, and at same time a teacher in Gorazdevac receives double salary(one from Kosovo gov. and one from Belgrade) for spending one hour per day with five students!?

The question of double salaries of Serbs in Kosovo was to have been raised long ago. That issue should have been considered by Serbian government authorities and repealed without waiting for the Constitutional Court’s ruling. Speculations swirl that some of the Kosovo Serbs’ officials have bonuses of more than four hundred thousand dinars a month. This Constitutional Court ruling is the best way to ’’ dispel the rumours’’. It is outrageous that doctors, teachers and other workers living or coming from Kosovo have salaries twice or three times as big as their counterparts from Serbia proper.

Some 45,000 people received the bonuses along with their regular salaries in Kosovo and Metohija, with RSD 26bn set aside from the budget for this purpose.
