The biggest party in Belgium openly says that eventually Belgium will spli. No one cares. Why double standards for Belgium and Bosnia?

More power to the regions! Yes, like in Belgium!

--He (Komsic)said that the main obstacle for a better tomorrow in Bosnia are the “hidden policies” of the parties that are participating in the government, especially the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD) and Republic of Srpska Prime Minister Milorad Dodik.--

yes, Komsic is 100% spot on, as we have argued on numerous occasions. dodik and the snsd are the main impediments to any progress for bosnia.

the latest outrage was their boycott of a vote on an upcoming country-wide census, which is a basic requirement for the eu, not to mention a necessity for any meaningful social policy. because of that cute little move, all hope of eu progress in the near future is dashed.

the eu reacted with their usual ignorant lecture: oh why can't you bosnians just get along!?

bosnia is under an absolutely unworkable system -- everyone admits it, but it works to the short-term benefit of dodik and co. who desire a non-functioning country so they can continue to enjoy the spoils of their (mis) deeds.

in many respects, the milosevic/karadzic/mladic horror project has succeeded and has been vindicated in bosnia, by law, or at least by the current interpretation of the law.

so yes, constitutional reforms are desperately needed. yesterday.

all this talk about "legitimate, democratic" choices (in rs) has very limited meaning, especially when dealing with types like dodik. he is in violation of the law on so many levels, on "every" level, as my bosnian frnd likes to say. and everyone knows it, but he has managed to control and manipulate his little power base with a sordid combination of demagoguery and intimidation. that is not good for bosnia, that is not good for those bosnian serbs who value honesty and integrity, and wish to have a better future for their children and for their fellow county people.

the intl community, which sat by dumbly and watched/facilitated the genocide in bosnia by guess whom for nearly 4 years! has an absolute responsibility to take action and make sure that bosnia is not once again destroyed by those same evil forces. we need to learn from our past mistakes, not just keep repeating them.

thanks and ciao!

Politically Bosnia has always been a weird county compared to other countries in Europe. I think Bosnia should adopt the Swiss style of Government; Bosnia should be a Federal republic, with a parliamentary system and have direct democracy.

The more Fedracija pushes for unified Bosnia the more Republika Srpska has chances and willingnes to separate.

Thanks God that Dodik differs so much from those chikens in Belgrade. At least he has guts to say openly what is on his mind unile those puppets from Belgrade.
