"great link... since US is able to sell all that debt at minimal rates it means that FI investors still see US gov't debt as the safest asset around, compared to, say, Serbia or Kosovo government debt.
(icj1, 7 August 2010 18:25) "

my point was that someone with such a humongous amount of debt is hardly qualified to preach to others about financial prudence. But old habits die hard I suppose

You NEVER received any economic aid and donations- you are rich :))
(ben, 6 August 2010 16:16)

Now who is crying about the loss of “economic aid and donations”? It’s a politician what a surprise; he is concerned that the money trough will run dry for them, not for the country or its people. The only “aid money” coming to Serbia my friend is money to buy out the politicians and pay the existing police and military structures to maintain order in the country that is friendly to them or I should say what appears friendly to them.
I know you guys salivate at the thought of Serbia being kept afloat with foreign aid, but that’s not true.

Yes and according to winston Serbia is booming. What a lucky country, when all the other European countries have a hard time.
(Joe, 6 August 2010 21:27)

Joe, the European Commission and the International Monetary Fund have both issued reports that “Serbia is the only growing economy in the Balkans today and its economic outlook is extremely positive”. Both organizations have expressed concern that the other countries in the region are contracting at an alarming rate.
Sorry to disappoint you but they are your institutions, not Serbian.
Oh, I almost forgot, in the US up to August 2010, May was the only month recording positive job growth numbers – a whole 20,000. The other months recorded on average losing 120,000 per month. Now according to your “official” statistics the US now has, get this, 9.5% unemployment – I was laughing so hard I nearly lost control of my car when a heard this.
Roll on Depression, roll on. Officially, you have 14 Trillion public debt, but when all government debt is included it’s now 22 Trillion and not taking into account the unfunded liability of 100 Trillion for your medicare and social security.

BilKlinton, I read that Draskovic tries to see the positive side of the Athisaari plan for the Serbs in Kosovo as I've heard from several sides that many Serbs in Kosovo are getting a better life under the in this plan fixed decentralization. e.g.
http://www.setimes.com/cocoon/setimes/xhtml/en_GB/features/setimes/features/2010/08/03/feature-02

I think that we just should be glad that things are running in this way and the tensions are decreasing in some parts of Kosovo, except for the north, as I read today:

Cees, Draskovic is asking for dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina. What is your point? When Albanians stop attempting to steal Serbian land, the two sides have something to talk about - until then, Pristina, and the KiM Albanians, have nothing to say to Serbia. Go back to albania, Albanians, if you want your own land. Kosovo is Serbia.

This shame plus Nikolic's declaration that Serbia has no alternative to the EU *1 DAY BEFORE the ICJ VERDICT* proves that Nikolic, Vucic & SNS do in fact work for the US & UK embassies as Seselj claims. Yet another victory for The Iron Vojvoda from Hercegovina! WHO DISPUTES THIS?

winston

pre 13 godina

Ben, is that your poor attempt at sarcasm? Serbia does receive aid. It receives money from richer countries that borrow it from China, and then burden their taxpayers with repaying it. Kosovo, by the way, would cease to exist without aid. So why the hypocrisy? No one ever said that Serbia is rich, in money, anyway.

"The party also worries about economic aid and donations that might be halted due to Serbia's hastened resolution on Kosovo"

You are suppose to work for the benifit of the Serbian people who elected you in the first place and not for foreign aid.

Another Serbian politician, Vuk Draskovic made his stance on Kosovo, which is illustrating that after the ICJ decision a change in thinking might be possible.
http://www.blic.rs/Vesti/Politika/201581/Mora-da-se-menja-strategija-prema-Kosovu

It is in general a far more realistic view than that of the other Vuk who represents the official meaning of the government.

jovan

well then, those european countries will certainly know what they have to do in order to avoid coming into conflict with Serbia.

they should be cautious, since they still do not seem to understand serbian resolve in the question of our southern province.
