(Skiff, 9 August 2010 00:49)"

It would be very expensive.

The status quo is that the European Union is every year pumping hundreds of million Euros into Kosovo.

If such sponsorship ends, everything will collapse.

Russia has just addressed this a few days ago. According to them no matter how many recognitions Kosovo gets they still need the approval of SC to take it to a debate and Russia will NOT allow it.
So, please do tell, how do you expect to get around that?
No matter how many recognitions is what Russia said, it's still going to be a NO in the SC.

Oh well Joe Senkiházi the immigrant genius who masters albanian among others heard himself what Hyseni said and can verify that Kosova-AIPEC is right and B92 has to resort to fabrications. Here we finally can see the modest side of this anyway boastful person. What a pleasent surprise. So far this guy boasted about his hungarian, french, german and english knowlage and did not write anything about his albanian which anyway is quite difficult to learn.Maybe in his childhood he wanted to read Enver Hoxa(his other childhood idol besides Rákosi Mátyás the communist dictator of Hungary) in the original.Otherwise while I am myself quite often angry with B92's strickt censorship I wonder if the censors of Joe's favorites such as 168 óra or Szombat for example would allow these kind of allegations on their forums. So I would like to thank B92 for allowing Joe's comment and not depriving us of great entertainment.

Kosovo cannot become a UN member if any permanent member decides to exercise the veto; namely China, Japan, US, UK and Russian.

However, if Kosovo got over 100 country recognitions, the case would be stronger to accept their membership.

Kosovo may have a bigger worry with China than Russia, China would not like to see a resolution that would consider Taiwan to be accepted to the UN; Kosovo recogition would surely open the door for Taiwan, a far more prosperous and viable state than Kosovo will ever be.
(Jugoslavija, 6 August 2010 23:20)
Just a technicality but Japan is not a permanent member, it is France.
China has no worries over Taiwan and none of its policies on other issues damages its ability to veto anything concerning Taiwan. I do not thin China would use its veto if the majority of countries support it.
Russia is a holdout but it is not an issue that affects Serbia directly so its veto power could actually be bought, finding the right price is the issue. But Russia will not betray Serbia it would only persuade Serbia that it is in its own interest to open the door as with the admission of Eulex to Kosovo.
Remember Serbia said definitely not, so Russia says they will only approve if Serbia does, next thing you know Serbia thinks it is a good idea and Russia says yes--wonder how that happened?

kosovo needs 100 recognition to be allowed in UN, russia can veto if kosovo is allowed in UN now with 69 recognistion by the other powerful nation. so put this in your head, its either 100 countries or it can get in now but there will be possible veto from russia since russia holds veto power as china, US, Britain, germany aswell.
(chriss, 6 August 2010 17:43)

Please be aware that the first part of your sentence was deleted and in poor taste.

There is no number or threshold that is needed for membership into the UN, this according to the UN Charter.

Taiwan has support of the majority of the 192 UN nations, but they will never be accepted and China will continually exercise the veto if a resolution was drawn up.

The same will happen with Kosovo, both Russia and China could veto indefinitely no matter that the General Assembly.

Kosovo cannot become a UN member if any permanent member decides to exercise the veto; namely China, Japan, US, UK and Russian.

However, if Kosovo got over 100 country recognitions, the case would be stronger to accept their membership.

A recent statement from Russia's UN envoy, Vitaly Churkin “…My words will not make anyone catch their breath while waiting for Resolution 1244 to be amended, replaced or canceled,” the diplomat stated. “You also know the procedures required to join the UN: a recommendation of the Security Council is required for that first of all, and the balance of forces in the Security Council is evident”. I know why Kosovo has not budged in a 100 years. It's because ethnic Albanians have people like Skender Hyseni, who really have no clue. Everything he says is complete rubbish. I mean, who can take this person seriously?

It is true that maybe Russia will never allow Kosova to have a seat in UN.
In other hand U.S. will never allow Kosova to be part of Serbia anymore.
You can agree or disagree with me but this is a fact.
When it comes to Hyseni... well all I can say is the man is not fit for the position he is in, but thanks to his political friends he was promoted.
For the end regardless of the issue on UN seat I wish Serbia and Kosova a good relationship in future.

Hysterical Skender's entire text can be translated as such:

"Ooh, I've got a big secret, but I'm not gonna tell anyone. All I can say is I've got people who told me they'd back me in a fight. But I don't know if they will."

How this man retains his job is beyond me.

He needs to worry about the two with veto power, China and Russia. One veto overrides all other votes. He isn't saying anything new as is the case with anything that comes out of any Kosovo Albanian politicians mouth. Same thing is said over and over again in hopes that one day they might say something that comes true.

Frank, tell your Albanian buddies to stop trying to steal Serbian land, and the relationship between the two will be fine. You cannot expect to steal something from someone, and have that person be your friend.

Thanks for the link. Next time a middle class english mushroom looks at me slightly confused and tries to develop the conversation along the standard line 'But wasn't Milosevic this dictator and weren't the Serbs the bad guys?' I can just point them to this article and enjoy my beer in peace.

Up until now I have just given them words to google like 'Jasenovac' 'Skanderbeg SS' 'Ustashe' and told them to go figure.

Mr/Mrs Kosovo US, please stop reading Albanian news sites, if you want true news. Skender surely did say as quoted by B92, Albanian news site alter news context to suit their propaganda. Do you understand? You cannot get true and factual news from Albanian news sources. It is still a tool for the government. Thaqi will kill you, KosovoUSA, if you said something he didn't agree with. You know I'm right.

kosovo needs 100 recognition to be allowed in UN, russia can veto if kosovo is allowed in UN now with 69 recognistion by the other powerful nation. so put this in your head, its either 100 countries or it can get in now but there will be possible veto from russia since russia holds veto power as china, US, Britain, germany aswell.

Kosovo may have a bigger worry with China than Russia, China would not like to see a resolution that would consider Taiwan to be accepted to the UN; Kosovo recogition would surely open the door for Taiwan, a far more prosperous and viable state than Kosovo will ever be.

Chriss, you are wrong. Do you understand that, Chriss? Please stop making up things. The UN operates by a set of procedures, and as much as the Albanians would like to by-pass these steps, they can't.

"However, if Kosovo got over 100 country recognitions, the case would be stronger to accept their membership."
====================

The status quo is that the European Union is every year pumping hundreds of million Euros into Kosovo.

If such sponsorship ends, everything will collapse.
