Personally I can’t stand this buffoon, but its an old tactic of say anything to keep your name in the media. Cedo controls a small party that is of no consequence and to keep up with the big boys.

In an election people vote for the major players so he has to be everything to everyone that has not voted for the big parties otherwise he and his lot become history.

He is all talk and nothing else. There are plenty of examples of people like this guy in the west.

i'm sure our cedi (cedo) would agree.

Like I said so many times... please... it's Ceda - Cheda Чеда, not "Cedi" or "Cedo".
Otherwise - as usual. Sadly, liberal parties de-facto support some pretty ugly and unholy forces. Once the people see, who pull the strings - they pull away from neo-liberalism.

Say "no" to any "ism", and be prepared to show your middle finger to anyone who is after your A&A (ass AND assets). Most governments are.

Good for you with the news. Government has to be neutral regarding preferences.

# Čedomir Jovanović is the only honest Serbian politician who can present a workable plan for Serbia's future. But I'm afraid that he will not succeed. 200 years of lies, religious and national fanatism in the Serbian nation cannot be erased in a few years. That will take 2-3 generations. One generation has been lost already.
(JohnC., 5 August 2010 11:30)

yes, JohnC, there is a great deal of truth to what you say. the excuse used to be: we live under a dictatorship, we are ruled by milosevic, what are we supposed to do??

well, we finally got rid of milosevic, and not without a lot of blood -- i mean rivers of blood, of death, of mass graves, of never-ending misery.

and now that there is "freedom" who is elected? nationalist demagogues. so sad, so depressing.

yes, it will take generations, but also people have to MAKE it change, it will not happen by magic.

and speaking of change, b-92 forgot to mention a very big piece of news which has rated #1 on newscasts here, and also bbc, at the least. an appeals judge in california has just yesterday overturned a ban on same-sex marriage. the whole process is complicated and contentious, and headed for further appeal, probably all the way to the US supreme court.

but for now it is a great victory for human rights, here, and symbolically, throughout the world.

a time to celebrate diversity and human rights. i'm sure our cedi (cedo) would agree.
congratulations to humanity.

You can categorize everyone in the world under two titles: those who believe the world revolves around the us and the majority who don't believe that. Cedo belongs to the first group.
JohnBoy

And Cedo is is right. And those who would like it differently are in constant denial. But denial does not change the reality.

Just like in other ex-communist countries. Good for the exporting countries. And the deficit is growing. But sure it is not as bad as in Greece.

winston,

I think those albanian/fans who bang on about Serbia being 'isolated' or 'soon to be isolated' mean that it is because albanians don't want to go there. A village mentality indeed. Of course there are albanians who come to serbia but only it seems in transit to get to western europe with the help of people traffikers*. I guess the gold paved streets of Pristina and Tirana just aren't alluring enough! Ironically, I would expect serbs to be making up a large numer of those being traffiked if it was so 'isolated'. Though I'm tempted to turn the other cheek, it is more fun not to. It's a pity how slow people seem to be in comprehending the ICJ ruling still.

I was just in Belgrade, Bonkers, and I didn't sense any feeling of isolation. Serbia is progressing quite nicely after the disastrous 90's. I saw cranes everywhere, new apts. going up everywhere, a new bridge, streets are full of people, clubs and restaurants are full, Serbians are vacationing, imported items are everywhere - where do you get the idea Serbia is isolated? I think maybe Kosovo Albanians are a bit more isolated, don't you think? Please try and stick to reality, not the reality you would like.

Maybe a more accurate headline would be 'Irrelevant politician makes irrelevant comments'?

As to braying comments from the usual suspects like donkeys, if Cedo is so great, why don't you give him a job in Pristina? As a serb, he might actually clean up some of the endemic corruption that is pervasive throughout the Pristina controlled parts of Kosovo?

Did you keep a straight face when you wrote that one Gjon. After all, weren't you the one on here boasting about the heroics of the Croat fascists who cleansed 200,000 Serbs from Croatia during Operation Storm in 1995 and calling for an Albanian version to cleanse Kosovo of its Serb, Roma and Gorani populations a couple of days ago. Now you are lecturing to the Serbs about truthfullness, peace and inclusiveness.

Cedo for President. This guy is the only serb who could bring serbia faster to the EU and NATO as well as relitve peace in the Balkans.

He would have recognised independence of Kosovo in 1999, so by now Serbia would have very likely be in the EU or very NEAR.

Furthermore it would have been much better financially.

Whereas today Serbia is FAR AWAY from teh EU, extremely poor with over $30bil in depth, Kosovo is gone in every manner even ICJ confirmed, while people in Serbia are starving.

So I guess you can make the choice

I think that Mr. Jovanovic has some cheek to even suggest that Serbia should join NATO.
He shows no respect for the many Serbs who were killed by the illegal Nato bombing of the Serb Nation in the 1990s.
Anyway, Serbia doesn't need Nato at all.
My country, Ireland, is NOT in Nato even though we are actually in the North Atlantic ocean.
Nato is simply an internationl arm of US aggression, worldwide.
