Kosovo is much much better than 1999 and its ok we can wait for long time no problem lets do business with just 70 countries and keep it moving its not like it will effect much.

It might be acceptable of those countries gave you all their busines but they haven't. So you will need the rest of the world to pick up the slack.

So has the Albanian govt, the US, UK, EU, etc., etc, but notice the one big difference, Serbia says negotiate status, and the rest of the world avoids the word or says everything but status.
The status talks necessary is only what is needed for Serbia to accept the independence of Kosovo not "if" it is independent.
(pss, 3 August 2010 22:49)

I think you are getting the word 'negotiate' mixed up with 'dictate'. I understand your confusion as both are quite similar.

Serbia has been calling for dialogue all along and all they got in reply was' Kosovo is a done deal, nothing to talk about' Now it seems everyone is asking for talks which proves Kosovo is not a done deal. Where are all the new recognitions? I expect most governments have read the full report and not newspaper headlines. Kosovo is in a mess and everyone is looking to the Serbs to save their skins. Serbia has remained brave and honoura
ble under the threats of the USa and their lackies, in the end Serbia will win but I hope the ordinary people will see the EU for what it is.

The As have a "legal" right to declare independence, and the Serbs have LEGAL right to Kosovo's ownership--Let's see who starves first.

First time that UN talks about albanian terror on Serbs in N.Mitrovica and undertone is they will not tolerate such actions.
1244 stays and k-albs can only dream that Serbia will let them get away with stealing and terrorist atacks..
It looks like Vuk was right on the money again..

Times change, people change, the months go by, the years go by, but PRN is still threatening the N. Mitrovica Serbs with some KPS surprise attack. While many in the UN and EU are discussing dialogueas a solution for Kosovo, it's good to see that you, PRN, are still focused on using force as a solution.

The only thing which is frozen is Serbia's application for the EU, as well as a bright future to prosperity. Serbia will continue to be a pariah state as long it is holding on lost causes. The fact that Ban Ki Moon sees the North as the unstable element just confirms this.
(John, 3 August 2010 16:03)

What a truly ignorant comment and spoken like an extremely embittered fan of the albanians. Now why would that be?

Absolutely nothing in the comment is true either.

As per usual, such irrelevant dreams and opinions come up against the hard wall of facts that point in the opposite direction.

Still, I'm glad to see the bitterness of such albanian fans on show. Quite good spelling too! Gold star. A great contribution.

As to BKM's report, he basically told the albanians and their western fans to lay off threatening the Serbs in the north as this is what would cause the problems.

See, even the UNSG says 'negotiate'. Drum roll please!

Hi John, Look up the word pariah dude before you try and use it.

Friends with Brazil, Russia, China, India, Indonesia..the list goes on....

Actually I looked it up for you; definition- social outcast, lower caste or no caste. As Kosovo will never be a country and will forever be impoverished and living on hand outs, I leave it to you to work out who the pariah state might be.

You are absolutely correct, Kate. The only solution for a peaceful future is for both sides to come to agreement. Both sides must win, and lose something. America's approach of "forcing through a one-sided solution", will not work. It may have ten years ago, if Serbia would have buckled like the US expected, but it did not. It deservedly fought, and continues to fight, for its land. Now, agreement, through dialogue, is the only answer. If need be, remove the parties that refuse to talk, and replace them with representatives that have the peoples' best interests at heart.

Rest assure that now after ICJ confirmed the full legality of Kosovo independence a different tune is going to played.

The Kosovo Police Special Forces (KPSF) are on stand by to bring law and order in the North of Kosova. The action by KPSF will come as surprise to all at an coordinated time and place with our allies so that all criminals (who are causing trouble)will be caught a 'sleep', arrested and will be populating our prisons for time.

Wait and see.

As long as Serbia only intends to talk about status and Kosovo refuses to talk about status, then the situation is frozen.

At the moment there is no legal status. All the ICJ supported was the right of Pristina to make the declaration. Kosovo is still legally a province of Serbia, and it is this that needs to be addressed.

There has to be a mutually acceptable solution for anything to move forward. They all [the UN and EU included] need to start thinking 'outside the box' and talk about some new ideas.
