While others ran to Germany in 1991 Glavas stayed with his loyal defenders to protect Osijek. Without Glavas's leadership, Osijek would've been another Vukovar as the Cetnik lead JNA would've destroyed the city. The E.U is comfortable with the Croatian Judicial system, in the end thats all that matters. Serbia should stop concerning itself with Croatian internal affairs. Isn't Kosovo enough of a headache for you....

So despite the 'buddy-buddy' show between Zagreb and Belgrade, we see that croatian words do not match croatian actions. Still, it is better than the slovenes who have not prosecuted a single slovene for war crimes.

And Zagreb remains silent on Tomislav Mercep, the ICTY deciding he's not worth it.

Bringing the wrongs to light indeed.

Well if that is Croatian justice then I'm an alien.

Glavas is on the run and his sentence is reduced, not to mention the horrible nature of his crimes!

Now good ol Branimir can decide if he wants to return and serve 3 years or so and in the last 6 months receive regular home visits at weekends. Ample time to write his memoirs, railing against injustice etc and to be out in time to enjoy the rest of his life.

In fact I wouldn't be surprised if this is part of a deal he made with the Croatian authorities for his return.
