"The money simply runs downhill, north to south."

What is the trade deficit between Germany and these countries? If only the calculation was that simple.

Other than that, again, you are right on the money.

Fatmir (Sejidu?), you don't like Greece because they didn't recognize an independent Albanian Kosovo, it has little to do with the way they ran their economy, be honest.

The figures Greece submitted at the time of admission might have been optimistic, but Europe wanted Greece in at least as much as Greece did - it was the Cold War, and no one in the West wanted Russian ports in the Mediterranean. The case with Bulgaria and Romania was similar - military and political considerations were greater than economic.

And as for Greece being a net receiver, how many countries in the EU are not? The money simply runs downhill, north to south. No wonder there's expansion fatigue. (And no wonder Norway and Switzerland aren't interested in joining.)

Droutsas came to Belgrade in order to give Greece’s stance that the “EU is taking coordinated steps” and that “the future of the region is in Europe,”"

Greece? Oh please. Because of Greece, everyone is delayed now and maybe we'll never get in EU due to their lying and cheating on EU funds. 30 years in EU and still a net receiver! That's Greece and now is trying to preach about EU
