"The Foreign Ministry in London expressed disappointment in a statement today, and said Serbia, although that was agreed upon, did not consult with the EU when submitting its resolution"

Why should have Serbia consulted with the EU. Serbia is a sovereign country.

Serbs should go on referendum whether serbia should accepted kosovo. I bet only 10 percent will be against. Tadic and company will be free and no one will care about it anymore.

The wording of the resolution may be irrelevant.

To decide an "important question" before the GA - such as I imagine attempting to determine international law in lieu of the ICJ would be - a two-thirds majority is required, meaning only 192/3 = 64 votes are needed to defeat a resolution. Kosovo has been recognized by 69 countries. Sounds pretty safe to me.

Do 'u think the Serbian politics is acting smart.
What is the benefit and lose in this game? Are they really understand that is 21st century?

Mr./Mrs. Miri, you have quite a colorful imagination. Enjoy your dreams. Now, back to reality. Why would Serbia ever want to present a resolution with the EU, the same treacherous bunch that is trying to wrestle Serbian land away from it, and simply award it to KiM's Albanians. What for? Kosovo was never a country, and certainly never an Albanian country. If they (EU) wants to be charitable, how about they give some EU land to the Albanians, and leave Serbia's land alone.

It's pretty clear that the current government in Serbia wants to lose K. in the terms of their opposition. The opposition wants a hard line stance, cocky resolutions, hate spewing, there you have it. Neutralize opposition with its own means, that way there is nothing to blame the government for. Smart play I would say for Tadic, although I cannot believe that Jeremic is really part of the game. The youngster still believes that he can talk anyone into his predicaments.

No one is taking in consideration 250.000 Serbian people expeled from kosovo in the last 11 years. What ever eurocrats and power gamers are doing has done nothing to improve lives of these people. If their policy is to let bunch of criminals take over 15% of Serbian land and approve of utter ethnic cleansing,on account geopolicy, and giving them crumbs from their "charitable" organizations..they should not expect us to sit and not act..
All of these super powers are acting worse that albanian terrorist.

'British Ambassador Stephen Wordsworth told the BBC that EU and U.S. officials worked together with their partners in Belgrade on drafting a new resolution to be sent to the UN GA, but that they were surprised with the speed with which Belgrade went to this body.'

Why would you draft a resolution together with the very same people who are trying to screw you and steal 15% of your territory?? The stupidity and naivety of some of our politicians never ceases to amaze me. This is treasonous behaviour as far as I'm concerned.

There is really not much to say. The proposal of Serbia will ultimatively fail. There is no majority for Serbia´s interest. Most of the countries which didn´t recognbize Kosovo yet will abstain while it´s supporters will definitely will make a clear stance. I can only imagine that Belgrade wants to lose this one on purpose, making it a liability for others, not for themselves. I´m almost sure that in autumn latest and after the defeat in the General Assembly new elections will be called.

According to Marković, another reason for his current mood is the Hague Tribunal's "biased policy".

Are you sure you are not going through andropause?
