Somebody said "The bond between Greeks and Serbs is something that Albanians will never understand..." and I cannot see what is the part of that "bond" that Albanians are not understanding? Is it perhaps the fact that both Serbs and Greeks are deeply Islamophobic and Albanophobic? If this is what was meant, then yes, Serbs do have that bond in common with Greeks, though one can also argue that both Serbs and Greeks are bonded in debts and bankruptcy too. The later one is surely telling more as to how similar they are. And rest assured that Albanians understand this very well.

If a Greek foreign minister is to take an official message from his government to Prishtina, one could then argue that the Greek gov't recognizes Kosova as a sovereign state.

What bond? Greece was very instrumental in NATO's campaign against Serbia. Greece didn't even bother sending an opinion at ICJ. Greece didn't come out after the ICJ stating it disagreed with it. Greece has never come out and say it will never recognize Kosova; you know like Cyprus. Greece has it diplomatic office in Prishtina. Greece recognizes Kosova's passports. Greece has always played it careful for itself; it waits and waits sees the directions where the majority is going and then does what the rest do. Very good politics for themselves. Don't bet too much on Greece; nobody should. They will go with the direction of the wind when the right opportunity arises. Turkey, US, Germany were your masters as well.

Milan is right when he says that Albanians cannot understand the bond between the Greeks ans Serbs because they never had a bond themselves with any other nation. It is this bond which has kept the islamic menace at bay from the balkans. But Albanians wouldn't know anything about bonds because for them bootlicking is the way to achieve national aspirations.

Greece was against every Nato decision against Serbia.
As to the ICJ opinion you imply that Cyprus acted alone
in the defence of Serbia.I can tell you that both Greek nations act as one on all foreign issues.

As to your claims about the unofficial diplomatic recognition of Kosovo by Greece is totally rubbish.
To start with no Albanian from kosovo arriving in Greece carries a passport or any other document.Six months ago a number of illegal immigrants arrested in Greece with no documents were found to be Albanians from kosovo whereas they maintained they came from Afganistan.

I am certain there have been pressures on Greece and the rest of the EU nations that haven't recognise the illegal UDI but we managed to
shrug it off and we'll continue to do so in the future unless the Albanians sit round the table with the Serbs and discuss the future status of the province.

"Johny",

Obviously you still do not get it. I do not think that any Serb would object that Greece is also looking after its own interest in these hard times. Serbia and Greece do not constantly have to publicly confirm the bond between the two people like the Albanians and their masters constantly have to repeat the lie to themselves and the rest that Kosovo is independent. In the end, when it really matters Greece will alwys choose Serbia over any Albanian, period. It is true that unfortunately Turks and Germans occupied Serbian soil, but the difference is that Serbs have resisted this even at huge prices in terms of lives lost. One speaks of a master if the ruled people are in fact happy to be ruled and they will try to assimilate to the ruling powers, something that Albanians are extermely skillfull in. Let's just wait and see, but my gut feeling tells me that the Kosovo Albanians are in for another dissapointment.

So, Jonny, are you saying that Greece is neutral in its stand on Kosovo? Do you not believe that Greece has its own interests regarding the KiM Albanians UDI? All the nations involved in KiM have their own interests at stake there. Why come down on the Greeks so much? Do you think the US supports an independent Albanian Kosovo for the love of Albanians, or for its own geographic interests? Be honest.

The bond between Greeks and Serbs is something that Albanians will never understand for the do not have something similar (not even with Turkey, the US, Germany; they are or were masters). Have a nice day.

"Reports said that he would convey a message that the future of the region lies in the European Union and that the stand of Athens on the Kosovo issue has not changed."

It's very doubtful that he will convey this same message in Belgrade, let alone in Pristina.

Useless! Greece cannot help in that issue. It is in its own mess and deeply dependent on North Europe. Not mentioning the fact that it primarily perceived as an Serbian ally (even when that is to simply described, e.g. Macedonia). A very small footnote which will be soon forgotton.

Kopran,

If you would have taken 30 s out of your precious life and actually read the article before you write down your fairy tale illusions you would have read the following: "Reports said that he would convey a message that the future of the region lies in the European Union and that the stand of Athens on the Kosovo issue has not changed." The bond between Greeks and Serbs is something that Albanians will never understand for the do not have something similar (not even with Turkey, the US, Germany; they are or were masters). Please go away Mr Greek FM, A country that has clearly leaned towards one side (Serbia) in this dispute has no credibility to mediate. At least in Vienna there was a Russian representative and everyone can claim that all sides were involved.
