"The ICJ as an institution discredited intself with an obscure ruling. "
(Jugoslavija, 29 July 2010 18:12)

Nothing obscure in it, the ICJ simply avoided the consequences by only stating that Kosovo's UDI itself was not against international law.

If some not so smart (or biased) people (who obviously cannot or don't wanna read) draw the wrong conclusions from it, like "The state of Kosovo is fully legal now" it's not the ICJ's fault.

I still wonder if Serbia deliberately asked the ICJ only about this "narrow" UDI question (avoiding a general ruling about the legality of Kosovo's secession after the atrocities commited against Kosovo Albanians by a criminal Serbian regime), or if it was incidently.

RE: "Kosovo State"

Kosovo is in a state of chaos, Haradnaji(sp) is back in the Hague Tribunal, the EU is arresting corrupt Kosovo officials with many more to come.

UN Resolution 1244 is still in force and until a new resolution is passed by the security council, this will continue.

There is no basis to condemn the Serbian UN resolution; its the only path to a long lasting solution.

The speed of the UN resolution is simply to freeze any new recogntions; it has done this job very effectively. (Vuk and Boris and are smarter than most think)

Whether it will be fair and not biased opinion remains to be seen.

The ICJ as an institution discredited intself with an obscure ruling.

As for the opposition parties in Serbia, DSS, LDP and the rest; they are playing politics at the expense of the Serbian state. Vojislav Kostunica is a contitutional dogmatist not capable of leading a nation. Cedar Jovanovic would sell his sister to gain power.

Its not check mate yet and Serbia still have some moves left.

"In the mid to long term there will be some kind of biological end to the problem here because, you know, one of the population(s) will simply disappear," he said."

Well, he didn't think to the end: With Kosovo being an economic black hole, not only the Serbian youth will prefer to move to some nicer places, but the Albanian one, too. In the end, there will be not much more than Serbian monks, KFOR soldiers and some Thaci clans left who can do their "business" (and live on the international donor money) ;-)

Not so sure EULEX under de Marhnac will be so even handed as I recall was it not de Marhnac who stated the following;

"In his briefing, de Marnhac also noted the average age of Kosovo's Albanians was 28, while the figure for Serbs was 54.

"In the mid to long term there will be some kind of biological end to the problem here because, you know, one of the population(s) will simply disappear," he said."

- do these EU technocrats beLIEieve that no-one can recall such blatant anti Serb sentiments and its nazi-like "final" solution connotations? de Marhnac is not a mman to trust with such a viewpoint on Serbia's province.

"Yes after the ICJ ruling things will get very neutral. "(PRN, 29 July 2010 10:24)

Exactly! EULEX will STAY neutral. What else should happen after this (non-)ruling of the ICJ which didn't say anything about Kosovo as a state?

ben

EULEX de facto was never status-neutral and now after the ICJ needs to be also de jure clearly in support of Kosova's statehoodnes.

If not it should be kicked out next day.

I am not keeping in my home an EU mission that has to be status-neutral since some failed and marginal states of EU want that. Simply NO.

Thanks to Jeremic now Kosova has also the international law in her side and it will very soon start behaving as a real sovereign state. It will not happen overnight but not later than the end of this year.

The times of b.s.. ing of the 6 piont plan type or border agreement has gone.

Belgrade wanted “the moment of truth” at the ICJ now it got it. Kosova is also under the international law a STATE. All the rest is just pure arrogance and political opportunism.
