"Again, why is this not a humiliation for kosovo albanians that foreigners are the only ones who seem to be capable of fighting corruption in Kosovo ..."

How many societies have been able to recover from the criminality that almost always accompanied a societal upheaval, all on their own? Certainly not Russia - corruption there is out of control - just look at their newspapers, if you don't trust international rankings - and as for Serbia, corruption is a constant staple of news stories. The Balkans suffered from centuries of bad government - there is not one country there that doesn't need help. And bringing in people with no local connections is certainly more efficient than relying on people involved in the corrupt system. (The South Koreans managed, but it took 40 years or more, and many elections.)

Bad news for the Snake, he wants to rule Kosovo all by himself. Guess the EU slapped that thought from Thaqi down. Who again really runs Kosovo?

According to Balkan Ins(h)ite:

"...Ashton said that Bout de Marnhac has the leadership needed to conduct a large rule-of-law operation in a complex environment.

"His experience in crisis management and his knowledge about the situation on the ground constitutes the appropriate background to lead EULEX through the next period," Ashton said..."

Again, why is this not a humiliation for kosovo albanians that foreigners are the only ones who seem to be capable of fighting corruption in Kosovo whilst their leaders (and extended families) who sit in the ivory towers in Pristina reap in all the proceeds from organized crime and corruption do absolutely nothing apart from squeak about how they should 'leave' and let the kosovo albanians do it themselves? What kind of democracy is this? It is far closer to the top to bottom corruption of Albania than anywhere else.

Still, I hope EULEX is successful as it is actually trying to make a difference for the man on the street and I also hope that none its efforts will reversed when it eventually ("20.." please insert date here)leaves.

"Most successful commander KFOR ever had, and I know he will do a better job then the current one."

Do a better job? Let's hope so, then maybe we'll read a a headline like this on a daily base:

"Residence of ex-KLA leader searched" or "Kosovo:Central bank governor arrested"

"Welcome Mr. Marnac."

Great that some of the Kosovo Albanians - unlike their political leaders - see the need for the presence of EULEX in Kosovo and welcome their new chief! Bravo!
