Kosovo-USA: "No one is talking about any status negotiations, except you and your Belgrade gov."

Actually, everyone is talking about them. Just as the fake 'win' at the ICJ, which actually only says that the UDI itself wasn't illegal and says nothing to support independence itself, so the 'talks' being urged by just about every nation will be status talks.

They will be dressed up as technical talks or whatever, but it is clear to everyone that (a) the status is not settled; (b) Serbia needs to agree to any solution in order for it to work; (c) Kosovo is a non-functioing, dependent and expensive project which is by no means working in its current form.

I thought ICJ verdict was supposed to end further talk of negotiations.

“In northern Kosovo, for example, there are Orthodox monasteries that represent the source of the Serbian Orthodox faith. The road that needs to continue, in any case, is the road towards Europe,” Frattini said.

-- Huh? I mean ok, there's Banjska monastery north of Zvecan that's been operating as usual without any problems.

I'd focus on those monasteries in Kosovo's west, south, and center.

'He added that the ICJ’s decision clearly states that Kosovo must remain a unique case and that it cannot cause a domino effect, since such an event would lead to a crisis of international relations.'

It didn't state that anywhere."

Exactly! The ICJ DIDN'T use the "special case" arguments, about the persecution of a minority and the severere violation of their human rights which might have been "allowed" a secession.

The only thing which made this case special was that, here, UN1244 had to be taken into account, too.

But the discussion was only about if the persons who declared the indepencence are allowed to do so, or if they were an involved party who signed/guaranteed UN1244.

Frattini, how do you politicians make these statements with straight faces. Is that a learned ability, or does it just come naturally to open face bull shitters? The ICJ has opened the flood gates for UDI's around the world. Kosovo is "NO" special case. What makes it so special? because the US said so, and you puppets repeat it? Every UDI is a special case, Mr. Italiano FM. You cannot have one set of laws just for the Albanians, and different ones for the rest of the world. You EU politicos are acting like children, honestly. Please stop this nonsense and try to retain some respectability.
