turkey is just waiting what serbs will doin mitrovica,cause they will be then entitled to ask the same for noth cyprus!
Don't think that it is a wise thing for cyprus to be in serbian sidethen,or for romania and spain!!we will accept to get rid of mitrovica only to set this précedent for the people of noth cyprus,hungarian in romania and catalonia !Please our serbian fellow,just do it!

-- If by "foreign" you mean "Greek" or "Byzantine", then yes you're correct. If by "foreign" you mean "Turkish", then by that logic, Kosovo should also be finished off since "foreign" rule in that context is "Serbian".

Cyprus has nothing to prove, economically it is a powerhouse. However, just across the street, the Turkish proxy of Northern Cyprus is desolate and poor.
Kosovo is living in poverty and taking hand outs from the US and the EU at the expense of its citizens.

It's crystal clear that countries which have a minority population who wants to secede (Spain, Romania, Slovakia, China, Russia...) and especially countries like Cyprus where exactly the same thing happened (only with the north, and not with the south) will never recognize a "country" which was created by an unilateral secession.
Not "the next day", and not "the next year" - hey, maybe the next century :-)

As Cyprus is in the eu and can keep kosovo out of it indefinitely, that would be a stupid move, so go ahead.

Cyprus, “unfortunately” you seem to remain soon the only black spot in the EU, since Kosovo yesterday confirmed its statehood and nothing is going to change that. So your expectations for more crisis in Europe will be gradually vanishing along with new upcoming recognitions of Kosovo as European country.

Maybe if we cross our fingers, the Federation of Serbs and Gorani of Strpce and Dragas (FSGSD) can also secede and be recognized by Taiwan. Let's make the good people at Rand McNally busy for the next few years.
