There were many who knew this was a stupid thing to do in the first place, as these international courts are biased towards western agenda. The Serb leadership is not smart. And didn't Tomislav Nikolić betray his own part a few years ago? Serbs need to look at their politicians entire history and their actions rather than their current statements and words alone.

"This is not sufficient to provide the transportation from Bulgaria or Turkey/Middle East to Europe."

What would be the percentage of TOTAL EU import/export going through that bridge? Few percents the most?? Don't forget that 20-22% of the total EU trade alone is with the US and about as much with China. This bridge is maybe very important for Bulgaria and Turkey (no EU member)but much less for the other 26 members. You can not compare it in importance with some bridges between Germany, Holland and Belgium.

Hallucinating! I didn’t know that there were wind mills in Serbia. Please, can someone refresh my memory? Who asked for the IJC opinion in the first place? Albanians or serbs? In other words if the court would have ruled on Serbia’s favor then Serbia would celebrate that decision as a victory. Since the opposite occurred, it’s up to interpretations again. Wake up guys; you’re becoming the laughing stock of the world politics. Move on to greener pastures and forget about ruling Kosovo again.

Just because justice is subject to force in Serbia that doesn't mean justice in the West works the same way. The Serbs tent to see everything from their own experience and perspective - the sad truth is that they've been living in a country where democracy, rule of law, impartial justice and individual liberties are all compromised at the benefit of some greater national cause - which is what?
The reaction of Serbia on the ICJ ruling reminds me of the collapse of the Manchu Empire in China when the entire world has realised that something new was happeneing and the world was now functioning differently - they closed the doors of the Forbidden City and refused to see beyond their established dogmas. Regress doesn't have a different name really.

Right now I believe Serbia must ask military aid from Russia and China to revive it’s army.

Угу. Israel is the best example: if you have enough Merkava tanks, ICJ verdict is no more a fancy-looking toilet paper.

If the plan "A"(htisaari) fails and plan "M"(erkava) is rather adopted to Middle East conditions - there is still a plan "T"(-90).

And of course Serbia has to start again to work on their nuclear program. They had it a while ago.

In today's world best insurance against UDI-s and for preservation of democracy is not ICJ, but 3M:

Megatons, Merkavas and MiG-s.

the "hat in hand" "yes sir" "i wanna be the eu's friend really bad" approach has not worked

(benzo, 23 July 2010 18:28)

Serbia can make two mistakes:

1) Turn it's back to EU entirely (tried, it did not work)
2) Be submissive (tried, it did not work).

There is a fine line between.

Serbia is in a key geographic position with only ONE SINGLE bridge across Danube functioning between Romania and Bulgaria (the "Friendship Bridge").

A new one is under construction between Vidin and Calafat, it will have 2x2 lanes and one railway track (electrified).

Total available today:
- 2x1 lanes + 1 track non-electrified rail

Total available next year (perhaps):

- 2x1 lanes + 1 track non-electrified rail
- 2x2 lanes + 1 track electrified rail

This is not sufficient to provide the transportation from Bulgaria or Turkey/Middle East to Europe.

Hence, with good politicians Serbia can dictate what she wants. EU should not ask, do they need to jump or not, they should ask, how high.

I.e. of course Serbia (or if you like: Russia, Belarus, Ukraina) belongs to Europe and they will be married at one point.

But the bride(s) are REALLY expensive and not easy to get, a lot of courting is required. Otherwise it's not a bride, but a cheap hooker.

It’s good time for consolidation and if I were you I would not hunt the witches now. Serbia have to estimate it’s own will to resist the world bandits. And if there such one then it must become a national idea which the rest of the world will have to deal with. As a matter of fact the current strategy is a weak one and Serbia needs radicalization. And Toma is the one who can gain better negotiation positions.

Right now I believe Serbia must ask military aid from Russia and China to revive it’s army. Most of all Serbia needs big special forces trained to fight in the mountains. If deployed close to the province they will make Kosovo Serbs feel safer. NATO have no more unity and cannot afford another Barbaric attack at a Christian country in Europe and Serbia must exploit this shift of the balance in it’s own favor. Barak Hussein also cannot afford another war to be launched …
