Yeah, sure! A government under Kostunica wouldn't have asked the ICJ but would have sued half the world, demanded compensation, and Serbia would be the richest country in the world today! What else?

Velja appears to be correct. Kostunica would probably do one 'better' than Milosevic did to his Serbia.

Beware of sheep dressed in wolves' clothing. They will only bring disaster to the Serbian people.

Koštunica’s motto: Kosovo is Serbia cannot detain Kosovo within the border of Serbia. He does not know how to tackle political issues as it was evident when
he was Prime minister when Kosovo's ethnic Albanians unilaterally declared independence in February 2008. His response was a mass rally in support that Kosovo is Serbia. No diplomatic measures did he propose or tackle. Let us revise Koštunica’s policy regarding Kosovo. One example: While being PM, he and his officials suggested that all policemen of Serbian nationality working for the Kosovo police force should step down, and lots of them complied with the suggestion. And what followed? They lost their jobs, nobody cared for them and their families and finally they changed their minds, re-applied for the same jobs in the Kosovo police force. Another example: He insisted that passenger rail transport should be re-established in Kosovo run by Serbian Ministry of Transport. What happened? The first train was trapped and detained near Mitrovica. My conclusion is that it is high time he retired and joined a pensioners’ club or stayed at home and stroked his cat.

Well said Vojo. When someone tries to steal 15% of your territory, and you go kissing their backsides instead of taking a harder line, this is the result. I hope most Serbian citizens wake up to the fact that the German controlled EU is not their friend, never was their friend, and never will be their friend. They only want to use you, squeeze you like lemons, and then when there is nothing left to squeeze, throw you in the garbage bin. Anyway, the EU will not survive, so we shouldn't even be talking about it.
I hope we get new strong leadership in Serbia, enough with these pansies.
Cheers!!

HEY B92, how about some statements from SRS?! It hurts you that we've been right, doesn't it B92? And by the way, had Kostunica dropped Tadic in the early 2000s for SRS, we wouldn't have this govt pushing the 'EU has no alternative' policy. Seselj & SRS have been vindicated completely, we were right from Day 1: EAST, EAST, EAST, look EAST! But forget that, lets spit in St. Sava's mouth and make homosexuality mainstream to join the EU so that God can punish us.

"Holding on to power at any cost, new political deceptions and delusions can only lead Serbia to new and harder defeats," warned Koštunica.

So what Mr. Kostunica is implying is that the current pro-EU government is Serbia deliberatly formulated the question the way it did hoping for an answer that would finally allow it to get rid of Kosovo without lossing face in the eyes of the Serb people.

Of course Serbia would not leave Kosovo without something, which is where Northern Kosovo comes into play.

Yesterday's call from VP Biden to Tadic immediatly after the ruling was expressly focued on the territorial integrity of Kosovo.

Makes one wonder whether there is something else at play here.

Koštunica was right all along. What do you do? Toothlessly ask if the UDI is legal or bite and say it it is illegal and sue?

Of course biting is against the "for a European" Serbia. This is the carrot being held in front of young Serbians all the time. I have to say, I'm glad this policy backfired and the DS gets a big slap.

As usual though, this kind of thing happens mid term so they have time to recover. Lets see how much the opposition capitalises on it.

I think that the Serbian government's 'EU has no alternative' propaganda is very good.

The people of Serbia must understand that there is no alternative to the EU.
