Personally i wouldn't like to see Bosnia recognise Kosovo. My reason? I agree with the Serbs, but try use Kosovo as an excuse for RS, no thanks.

Actually Dayton would not stop the Serbs from declaring independence because we have just heard it straight from the hrose's mouth that declaration does not break any law. It didn't matter that Serbian has Res. 1244 which states that Kosovo is part of Serbia because a declaration alone is not contra to the law.

Unless there is a part in Dayton agreement which specifically mentions declaration of independence being forbidden it is not.

RS on you way out of that unholy union. Break free.

you know, sandro, i usually agree w/you, and i strongly support bosnia, my beloved sarajevo... i've been quite clear where dodik belongs (trial/prison.) he is outrageous, a crook, a demagogue, and hopefully, soon, history.

but it is yr position on recognizing Kosova that i have major issues with. you and (some) other bosnians. i've found it frankly bizarre, not to mention hypocritical, that your nation fought so desperately for its independence from "yugoslavia", and yet refuses to support independence for the people of kosova, who have at least as much right. after what they've been forced to endure -- esp.ly in 98-99 when serbia physically attempted, w/ dire success, to either liquidate or expel a majority of the albanian population from their homes.

this attitude is utterly insensitive, and frankly irrational. and yet i have heard it from bosnian frnds. something is really off here.

bosnia is the only other ex-YU state, aside from serbia, that has yet to recognize kosova. in that it is utterly out of step. i realize that you are under imminent threat from dodik and co. but at least you can offer the people of Kosova some moral support.

the old YU prejudices and hierarchies (not to mention racist attitudes) are still in evidence.

thanks, and ciao!

Dodik is a joke. He keeps talking about "referendums" and "independence" for years while doing the exact same thing he's been doing for years stealing people's pension money. He's a nobody and his statements carry little weight outside of Laktasi. It's time for Dodik to exit the scene and for new people to come in so that BiH can get a functional constitution and its citizens can enjoy better lives.

So if Dodik calls for referundum on the dubject of independence from Bosnia, then I would like to remind everyone about dayton, using Kosovo as an example is blackmail and has nothing to do with law, the law being the Dayton agreement signed by Bosnia, Croatia, Serbia. See the last country I named? By the way the Serbian government has said they support the territorial integrity of bosnia, in which your own "countrymen" sold you out. Serbia can only do as much as defend bosnia due to Dayton. Try deny this and object it but in the end it's international law, the only problem?

I agree most of the comments here. Dodik should be more diplomatic and stop his useless critics of the court. Instead he should use the moment and say : “If this is the new International law then we are going to break away from our rivals too !” Next he should step by step follow Hashim and send the same text inquiry to the International Court of the Golden Billion.

Hello Mr. Dodik, you should have said this much earlier or maybe you did that. By the way, who are you? On whose behalf you are talking to? I can assure you that soon B& H will recognize Kosovo as an independent European country, simultaneously individuals like you, Radmanovic, Tadic, Jeremic and so on, will become history.

Seems like Dodik is judge, jury and executioner too; of the international court of justice. How more ridiculous can you get; declaring an international courts decision illegal. The brainwashing that goes around is simply appalling.

"The ICJ advisory opinion showed that politics is above law, as inferred from the votes of the judges who were supposed to represent the stands of their countries," Dodik told Tanjug.

Dear Milorad,

Could you then explain us WHY did the mexican and brazilian judges voted in favor of kosovo ????

PS: and what about your famous referendum due to be held this year ???

Judges are independent. And an UDI is simply not mentioned anywhere in the international law, and only that's why it cannot be against it.

The court ruling declared explicitely says that it's advisory opinion is only about the UDI, and not about the legality of secession and an implicit statehood.

In simple words: Every group can declare themselves as independent, because an UDI doesn't have any consequences.
